A good puter friend of mine EMailed me just

the other day & ask why don't you put some of your
holiday ideas & pics of things you do on your site
& I thought "I can do that!" That is how the next
few pages came in to being. Since Halloween is my
very,very fav holiday I think it best to start with it.
It is mid-Aug,and still hotter,than heck here
in Texas, but just the thought of Halloween conjures
up, brisk weather, leaves falling, & the scent of apples
dunked in a pot of warm thick,goey,chewy caramel,
then dipped in mountains of fresh pecan pieces.
Of course the excitement of "What will the kids be(& me,too)
for Halloween? See I told ya my fav holiday, LOL. I wish
my children could have know the absolute joy of
Halloween as I knew it as a child. Way back in them olden
days would take a grocery sack...huge & made of thick brown
paper or a pillowcase & would Trick Or Treat till midnight.
We would receive popcorn balls huge & homeade(many times it
was it was still warm),fresh baked baked cookies, peanut
butter were the usual ones & yes most times they were still
warm, too. And yes even the carmamel apples. Once I remember
visting a house that gave away ice cream sandwiches!
We would get home right around the witching hour, our bags
overflowing(we learned early in life take extra bags, because
the weight of so many treats usually busted a bag or 2)
pains in our tummies from consuming so many treats while
making our rounds. Never once did our parents feel the
need to check our treats or say while we were out NO!
To much meaness for us to trust that person...wait till
we get home & check the treats. What a shame, those days
are gone...personally I miss that trust.

this is really 3 pics I combined,but this year I have a pano camera

Last year I told my hubby I want our house to be

the one if you were a kid you would have to visit, because it
was decorated so much, it had to give the COOL STUFF,LOL.And
cool would be the "Monster Mash" in our front yard. Then
he knew he was doomed to hours of work in his shop,LOL.
Truthfully, most of the wooden cut-out monsters & jukebox,
he cut out & I painted one Sunday afternoon.The witch &
several of the cats were from 97. Jeeves my butler is a
house decoration we made & I use him for many things,LOL.
Miz Edie on the porch is a stuffed doll I made & I change
her clothes & wigs & use her for many many occasions. Frankie
Baby (on porch with Miz Edie) I made last year. My hubby
started him as a wooden soldier & wasn't satisfied with him.
I took him & made him the man he is today...LOL.Actually he
is quite modular, I am making different heads & changing his
clothes for the season. I told my best friend I finally had
the perfect man for her, one she could trust. *smile*
At night it is really cool all lit up, I wish I knew how
to take a night pic of it & show ya. The pumkins are wooden
cut-outs that hubby makes & "carves" a pic in them &
then they are lit up,too.

~~~~~~~Here the kids are trying to dig up a playmate again! How many times do I have to
tell them? They are country kids,ya know.
To make a face using a wig head: I cover with paper mache
let it dry well, then paint. Sometimes I paint eyes &
sometimes I use marbles & sometimes arylic eyes. You can
build a "skeleton" from PVC pipe using 45* & 90* angles
to make elbows & knee joints. Pose them & glue joints.
Dress skeleton in old clothes adding stuffing inside clothes
to fill out.Add a wig. Don't forget hats & jewelry. Miz
Edie is only half a doll (waist up) & sits on old bar stool.
Can I get ya something from the bar?
(Halloween 97) What a man... what a tin man!
