This special pageant will be used by the members of the Northern Pony Meet to vote for the next official Northern Pony Meet mascot! Baby Ice Crystal is proud to have presented the Meet for it's first two years, and Mistral gracefully took his place this year. The new mascot will represent the NPM next year!
Rules:
- Ponys who are involved in the custom contest may be entered in this contest as well.
- You may make a separate "real" custom pony for this contest.
- You may hand draw an entry.
- You may make a sculpture or model.
- You may use a template from the internet and add symbols and colour.
- You may have someone else draw your entry for you.
- The design must have been created by you (even if you didn't draw it).
- The entry must be visually represented at the Meet, no written or oral descriptions allowed.
- You may enter more then once.
- Each pony participant must write out a short speech (anywhere from a full paragraph to a page) explaining why they think they would be the best mascot. Be creative for this, it must be from the point of view of the pony. Think beauty pageant speech here.
Entries:
Contestants in the mascot pageant will be displayed at the meet for everyone to see at their leisure. Just to make it clear, all entries for this contest will consist of two parts:
- A custom or hand drawn art or printout or painting or model (ect.) clearly showing the pony.
- A written or printed speech one paragraph to a page in length.
Judging:
At the beginning of the Meet, everyone will be given a ballot for this contest. There will be a ballot box close to the entries. During the day feel free to examine the entries and read what they have to say. Carefully consider each on it's merits, and ignore the technical skill of the drawing or custom itself. When you are ready, fill out your ballot and drop it in the box. At the end of the Meet the box will be opened and the ballots counted to determine the winner. In the event of a tie, the Lovers of Ponyholics will be asked to choose the winner.
Technical skill does not mater at all for this contest. Stick figure ponys will get just as much consideration as gallery pieces. Next year the winning mascot will be redrawn by me so only the overall design will be considered while voting. This leaves it open for absolutely anyone to enter, not just those who consider themselves artistic!
