Celeste
Hey guys, I'm Celeste. So glad you came!

I guess you want to know about the dolls if you're here right? Well shivering stars, it can get confusing sometimes! I'll try to help ya out as best I can, if you need to know anything else, just ask!

Let's see. Well, Moondreamers was put out by Hasbro on Nov 26th, 1986 and continued into 1987. In the UK it even went into 1988! There were at least three different releases of most of the dolls. I don't know too much about this, but I'll keep ya posted as I find out okay?

One more thing; this is just for the North American releases. Sometimes they were different in other countries. If you want to know about that, go find Blinky!

A Note about Special Offers

Dreampoints found on the doll's packagingOriginally the dolls were released with Dreampoints printed on the bottom flap of the box that you were supposed to collect and redeem for mail-in offers. But Hasbro never had a mail-in offer for Moondreamers, so later releases came with bonuses right inside the box instead. The bottom left corner on the front of the boxes is the easiest way to tell which type it is. The first release has a star which reads "Collect Dreampoints for dreams come true!"
The record bonus offer
Records
A small 33 rpm record came with the second release of the figures. The star on these boxes says "Free Moondreamer record inside". Each came with a different coloured record labelled "A Special Message from (insert characters name here)" .

The Dreamtail bonus offerDreamtails
The third issue included clips with locks of false hair called Dreamtails. The bottom corner says "FREE Dreamtail inside. Collect more then one for styling fun!" Dreamtails had pink clips with either blue, white or purple glow in the dark hair. I'm not sure if Bucky was released with a Dreamtail.

The Dolls (store bought first, then prototype)

Came with a pink star shaped dream crystal necklace, a pink hairpick, and a clear blue stand. Crystal Starr has pink curly hair and blue eyes. Wears a pink and blue dress, a silver headband with star shape, white with silver tights, and pink star style shoes.

Versions I've seen: All known releases (Dreampoints, red Record, and white or purple Dreamtail).
Dolls from these releases seem to be the same, only the bonuses and packaging differ.

Incomplete dollWhimzee

(Missing her shoes, hair is not right.)

Whimzee has wavy aqua hair and blue eyes. Came with a blue tear shaped dream crystal necklace, a purple hairpick, and a clear blue stand. Wears a purple dress with a clear cape and skirt layer, a purple headband with circle shape, pink shimmer tights and purple shoes.

Versions I've seen: All three known releases (Dreampoints, clear blue Record, and white Dreamtail).
Dolls from these releases seem to be the same, only the bonuses and packaging differ.

Incomplete doll
Sparky Dreamer

(Missing one shoe and glasses, hair is almost right.)

Sparky Dreamer has straight blond hair and blue eyes. She came with a yellow diamond shaped dream crystal necklace, a pink hairpick, and a clear blue stand. Wears blue and purple jump-suit, pink socks, pink star shaped glasses, and pink lace style shoes.

Versions I've seen: All three known releases (Dreampoints, blue Record, and blue Dreamtail)
Dolls from these releases seem to be the same, only the bonuses and packaging differ.

Complete dollDream Gazer

(Complete, with original hairstyle.)

Dream Gazer has straight peach hair in a ponytail to her right side. She has purple eyes with a brown star patch over her left one. She came with a purple heart shaped dream crystal necklace, a yellow coloured hairpick, and a clear blue stand. Wears a simple purple dress, a  clear robe with patterns, multicoloured sparkly tights, gold sparkly hair elastic, irridescent head disk, and orange swirl style shoes.

Versions I've seen: All three known releases (Dreampoints, orange Record, and blue or white Dreamtail).
Dream Gazer is truly a mysterious Moondreamer, she has been seen with a few variations. The Dreamtail version sometimes has the star around her eye and sometimes not. I have even heard of a version where the star was purple rather then the usual brown but I don't know which version it was. The Dreampoints version is the only one that came wearing her infamous head disk, but the other versions included it inside the box where it can't be seen. The comb that came with her Dreamtail version was pink. (Thanks to Brian for some of this info.)

Incomplete dollBucky

(Missing his shoes, and the ties for his vest are gone. With original hairstyle.)

Bucky Buckaroo has short, straight blond hair, blue eyes and freckles. He has his own pose. He came with a green circle shaped dream crystal necklace, a blue comb and a clear blue stand. Wears a gold jump-suit, blue vest, and yellow lace style shoes.

Versions I've seen: Record. This version seems to be the most common for him.

Incomplete dollCeleste and Galaxia

(Missing her headband and shoes. Hair is almost right.)

Celeste has wavy lavender hair and pink eyes, she's looking up. I don't know if she came with a Dream Crystal necklace, but she does have a blue comb, a light blue wand, and a yellow moon barrette. She wears a long blue dress with clear cape and sash, silver headband with butterfly shape, blue tights, and blue crescent moon style shoes. It should be noted that hers are the only clothes that don't have any glowing bits, except her shoes.

Incomplete figureGalaxia is a vehicle style figure. She is a large pink dragon with purple hair and an open bench in her back big enough to sit two or three dolls. She came with a yellow star barrette, a starred necklace, and a ribbon to act as reins.

Versions I've seen: I have only seen this set MIB once. It was issued later then the other figures, so it's probable it only had one release. I don't know enough about this one to say for sure, but one thing is sure; it's very rare. That alone would imply it had fewer releases then the others.

Incomplete dollComplete figureBitsy and Roary

(Missing her headband and shoes. Hair is almost right.)

They came with a white flower patterned dream crystal necklace, a yellow hairpick and a clear blue stand. Bitsy has curly white hair and blue eyes. She shares a pose with Blinky. She wears a white dress, a silver headband with star shape, white and silver tights, and gold star style shoes. Roary is a yellow plastic lion figure with wings and a moulded on crown. He has no accessories.

Versions I've seen: As far as I know, there was only one issue of this set, yet it seems to be one of the most common MIB.

MIB setBlinky and Ursa

They came with a pink flower patterned dream crystal necklace, a blue hairpick and a clear blue stand.  Blinky has straight pink hair in two pigtails to the sides. She shares a pose with Bitsy. She wears a pink dress, silver headband with moon shape, white and silver tights, and blue shoes. Ursa is a white plastic bear figure with a moulded on star necklace and saddle blanket. She came with a blue patterned saddle.

Versions I've seen: As far as I know, there was only one issue of this set, yet it seems to be one of the most common MIB.

MOC Dozer, Stardust and StumblesSnoozers

Each Snoozer had their own pose. Dozer is pink with blue pyjamas and came with earmuffs and a wand, Stardust is purple with yellow pyjamas and came with a cape and sand bucket, Stumbles is blue with pink pyjamas and came with a hat and glasses.

Versions I've seen: Dozer ~ two issues with the only difference being the packaging, one with the accessories to the side and one with the accessories on him. His prototype has him coloured blue, but as far as I have seen he was not issued this colour. Stardust ~ two issues with the only difference being the packaging, one with the accessories to the side and one with the accessories on him. Stumbles ~ two confirmed issues with the only difference being the packaging, he's facing left in one and right in the other. I have also seen a loose Stumbles coloured pink like his prototype doll, and a blurry MOC photo in which he kinda looks pink, so it's possible there was an issue with him coloured this way.

Prototype Stumbles plushThere was also a plush Stumbles available. His accessories were attached and included his hat and glasses and also a yellow pouch over his back. (The photo is of the prototype, the only difference is that the store release didn't have the lenses of his glasses filled in. Of course, Stardust didn't come in the pouch with him.)

Complete figureUrsa Minor

Ursa Minor is a small plastic bear figure. She is sitting with one paw up the her chest and her eyes closed. She has little wings and a moulded on star necklace.

Versions I've seen: She came only as an accessory in the Dream-A-Long Drifter.
Incomplete dollEvil Scowlene

(Missing her Yawny.)

Evil Scowlene is aqua with curly neon yellow hair. She came with a nightmare crystal necklace, a neon yellow hairpick, a blue Yawny hair clip and a stand. She wears a green and purple robe with attached purple mesh cape, and purple fuzzy slippers.

Versions I've seen: As far as I know, she was only issued once.

MOC Creaky, Shiner and SquawkerSleep Creeps

The Sleep Creeps each had a unique pose. Creaky is blue with purple trim and came with green sandals, Shiner is purple with red trim and came with a blue flashlight, and Squawker is pink with blue trim and had a blue megaphone.
