Okay, I'll let you in on my secrets....
Here are some of the My Little Pony customs I'm currently working on. They are in various stages. Mostly they are waiting for the right materials, but some are waiting for bodies.

 Refreshing
Refreshing is one of three ideas I had for the Ponies of Summer 2000 contest at the MLP Customizers Club. I kept trying to steer clear of the watermelon thing because I saw Geekyspice's "Summer Treat" custom at about that time, but it just kept worming it's way back. Some fond summer time memories are of eating big slices of watermelon out in the sun and spitting the seeds everywhere. Anyhow, I designed her because she kept insisting, and I am making her out of a Medley I have. Right now her body is almost done, but I'm having a hard time finding good hair for her.
Despite not actually being finished yet, she sure has been popular the last few years. I often get comments on her and many want to see her completed in one form or another. I'm starting to feel the actual end result may let people down, I'm not sure I can make her well enough to live up to all this hype! As I stated above, her body is actually mostly done, I just need to figure out her hair problems. By popular demand, I'll be scanning an in-progress picture of her to tide you over. Look for that soon!

 Sunshower
Do you remember ever playing in the sun and it starts to lightly drizzle? If the sun is still out it makes rainbows everywhere, what a magical moment! So here's Sunshower, my attempt to capture this moment. I'm debating making her a Twinkle Eyed pony, I think that extra glint will add to the overall appearance. She'll have fluffy hair. Not quite as foofy as the Perfume Puff ponies, but light like a cloud. So far she's sadly nothing more then this sketch however...
You may have noticed she's a bit different then my usual custom. I'm a heavy traditionalist, and Sunshower is certainly not a traditional pony! I'm not sure exactly why that happened... I think it was because I was trying to make her a piece of sky herself instead of just having a piece of sky on her. If that makes any sense to you. Whatever the case, she still holds a special place with me and even though I have stopped starting new customs, I will still eventually make her. Once I get the perfect donor body that is!

 Applejack's Family
Applejack was my first pony when I was six. He was always a guy to me and Posey was his girlfriend. When I got Baby Applejack, I thought it was so nice that my couple finally had a baby. Then I started thinking "What about more babies? What about traditional ones that combine traits of both parents?" So I sketched Applejack's family featuring a male version of Applejack. The little ones are Newborn Applette and Baby Pojack. I did this before I decided to make Applette a newborn, so she looks older here. This picture doesn't show her, but I also intend to do a Baby Posey.
This presents a considerable challenge for me. If I'm going to make this happen I need to find donors for a baby boy, an earth newborn, and an earth baby with first tooth. (Baby Posey needs a tooth you see). All very difficult custom baits to find! So this project will be a long time finishing I'm afraid.

 Delirium
She's modelled after Delirium of the Endless from the Sandman comics written by Neil Gaiman. For those who are not aware, Delirium is an anthropomorphic personification of the human emotion of the same name. She is chaotic, but so many other things as well. (Sandman is a really good read incidentally, I highly recommend it.) Her appearance varies dramatically, but she usually has multicoloured hair, all different lengths with little braids and shaved bits and things. She always has one green eye and one blue. She is known to randomly create frogs, or fish, or butterflies, or mushrooms or whatever when she is upset, or just bored.
And just like Delirium, this pony keeps changing as I make her, and is not quite what I thought she'd be. But I just go with the flow and let her lead. Unfortunately, she keeps trying to lead me where I can't follow because of lack of materials. As of now I can report she is made of ribbons, various beads, coloured strings, gimp, tinsel, glow-in-the-dark bits, sparkly bits, gold wires, metallic bits, and she's black light reactive! I have no idea what she'll look like when she's done :)

 Baby Summer/Windy Wings
Now here's my problem.... these guys were perhapes my most exciting custom project about a year ago. I aggressively scoured the net looking for Teenie Tiny custom bait ponies, and manage to secure about six trades or sales for them. I was very excited and couldn't believe my luck. All from proven traders as well! I couldn't wait to get them. I even drew little baby wingers for all the people who were sending me TT's and included the original art in their payments. So I waited, and waited. and lo, I only recieved two. This was a huge disappointment for me. Not because I had lost a few dollars and ponies, but because the TT's I was so eagre for weren't going to come. I became very frustrated and when a few more (unrelated) pony deals ended up losing me quite a sum of cash, I finally turned from the online community. So there you have it, one of the biggest factors in me disappearing for eight months was these little cuties. Now they're something of an upset to me. I do have the two custom baits, but I don't have the heart to work on them. And even though I still badly want to finish these babies, I am nervous about starting the hunt for TT's all over again. Ironicly, I've become known for the Baby Wingers in my Nursery, but I have no idea when I'll eventually find it in me to continue with the original project. You'll see them someday I'm sure, but I can't say when...
