Scandinavia / Russia / Baltic States
On our way to the North on pists in Sweden. Sometimes is the strength missing to stop the bike in time after hours of driving without any stops.
Rain and rain in Norway. Wild camping after we got totally sucked from the rain.
Slettnes, the most northern point of the European Mainland.
Russia:
The border to russia (norwegian side) and the first cultural shock, Nikkel, a mining city in the far North of Russia. Just dirt and pollution.
Murmansk, home of ca. 500 000 habitants. Compared to Nikkel a dream, otherwise... . Left a typical supermarket.
On the way to St. Petersburg: Murmansk - St. Petersburg 1480 km. Neither camping sides nor hotels on that route. Three days of sleeping in the woods with a lot of moskitos, but very beautiful indeed.
The great lake Lagoda besides the streets.
St. Petersburg. A city of steady rebuilding and contrasts between the old comunistic days and the capitalistic influences.
Baltic states:
Pure nature and beautiful places for wild camping directly at the baltic sea.
The historic market square in the ancient city of Tallin.
The Neringa, close to Kleipeda (formerly Memel), with a view to Königsberg.
The last days of our trip. Check in at the Truck ferry to Kiel and our last sun set on board. There were not so many on our trip!! Rain?!
