Well here we are in the year 2004, who would have thought that those Liverpudlian mop-tops would still be one of the most popular musical acts in the world, 30 years after they broke up. In fact, in 1997 (after the release of The Beatles Anthology) The Beatles were the highest grossing entertainers of the year. And in the year 2000 the Beatles Anthology Book was #1 on the N.Y. Times Best Sellers list. Plus their CD release called "1" was #1 in 27 countries around the world simultaneously, another Beatles first.
I have been collecting Beatles records and assorted memorabilia since my grandmother gave me the album you see on the left (one of the first Beatle Bootlegs produced) for my 9th birthday in 4/64. Through the years I have amassed some 150 L.P.s and 250 or so 45s, 42 complete concert performances on CDs, every BBC radio performance, dozens of hours of alternate studio tracks and hundreds of hours of press conferences and interviews. plus numerous posters, magazines, books, buttons, cards and god knows what else. Much of this collection as displayed on these pages.
Every item you see in these pages comes from my collection. I specialize in Beatles 45s and creating unique Beatles art pieces, plus complete live performances and alternate studio tracks. Check out the Art gallery for some simple ideas for yourself, I have created a number of very unique items by combing 45s, some with sleeves and some without, with the increasingly rare original sheet music, to create the beautiful pieces you see on that page.
The information on the 45s pages comes from a number of different sources and books (seen on the literary pages), including Perry Cox's 'Official Guide to the Beatles Records and Memorabilia, Harry Castleman and Walter Podrazik's 'Beatles Discography' as well as the incredible books by Bruce Spizer called 'The Beatles Story on Capitol Records Part One& Part Two' and 'The Beatles Records on Vee Jay'.
Beatle collecting has taken on a whole new life, with the advent of the World Wide Web and EBAY. Some 30% of my collection has been added in the the past 2 years through EBAY. I highly recommend certain sellers on EBAY like Perry Cox, who not only is a true gentleman but the most reliable source for high quality Beatle items that I have found and Mike Burch (Ebay ID morsemoose), who constantly has exceptionally rare items for sale and is a pleasure to do business with. Items that I had never seen in person, I now own and you can see displayed on these pages. If you have any questions or suggestions, feel free to email me at woodylifton@yahoo.com
Everthing that you see on these pages can be for sale, at the right price. Do not expect any bargains, but if you want to blow me away with an offer I'll listen.
