Painting Service
Yup, that's right, I've started up my own painting service! Sick of the endless rows of miniatures, with their bare plastic/metal faces staring at you? Or maybe your just lazy :) Or maybe you don't have the time. I can help. If you're fed up with other painting service's high prices, try mine, even if it's only for a few miniatures to try, to see if you like my painting. Currently, there are no pics of models I've painted on my site, but that problem will be resolved soon, as I am getting a scanner/digital camera very soon. So, because of this, I cannot provide a pic of a model I've painted to show you fine folks what my painting looks like. All I can tell you is that I'm an average painter, not the greatest, but average. I won't lie and say I'm an 'Eavy Metal painter, because I am definitly not. Although, I can tell you that I am a good modeller, I do very well with conversions. In fact, I'll even do conversions alone, even if you don't want them painted. In fact, I'll go so far as to say I'm a better converter than painter. So, without further ado, here's the ordering information.
ORDERING INFORMATION
Contact me at rzbd@home.com to place orders. I live in Toronto, Canada, and from my experience, it takes about 3-5 days for something to arrive from anywhere in North America or Europe, and about that time to send it back. But in winter, it may take longer, since Canada's winters are pretty long and hard. When you send me an email with your order, I will email you back a reply with my address. I accept payment in US dollars only, unless you would like to pay in Canadian dollars, in which case, contact me and we'll work something out. Payment must be sent with the miniatures you would like painted/converted. Or, you could send a letter with the payment in it, if you want me to purchase the models myself, then send them to you, although there is an assembly fee of $1 for man-sized models, $3 for large creatures, $10 for vehicles, and don't even ask about Titans :) Anything extremely hard to assemble (i.e. Bloodthirster) will cost extra, email me for details. Remember, if you want me to buy the models rather than you sending them, you must include the cost of the models themselves in the payment! Email me for details on this, if this applies to you. When the miniatures and payment arrives, I will paint/convert the miniatures as requested, take the money and ship 'em back to you.
ATTENTION
Since I am starting up, I am giving a 50% discount to the first customer, and a 20% discount to the next two customers! That's right! Take advantage of this offer before someone else does!
I will paint things in different degrees of quality. As quality goes up, so does cost. Sorry guys, that's what capitalism is all about :) If you've ever used Portent's Brushworks services, I use an almost identical system. Here is a brief run-down of the levels of quality for painting:
Level 1 - This is the most basic level. For Level 1s, models are painted without much of a great deal of regard for detail, but are neat and presentable. No drybrushing, inks or highlighting is used for Level 1s, but your choice of style of base (with the sides of the base painted or not), and the theme of the base (Grassland, Woodland, Urban, Water). Hellish bases are $1 extra. Level 1 paint jobs cost $3 for man-sized models (Space Marine terminator sized or smaller), large creatures (trolls, Ogryns, Rough Riders) cost $4, vehicles (dreadnoughts, Leman Russ battletanks, Greater Daemons) are $10, and Titans cost $15.
Level 2 - This is the natural step-up from Level 1. Level 2 models are good for those 'intermediate' type units, such as Genestealers if you're a Tyranid player, or Daemons if you play Chaos. This level has the benefits of drybrushing, and greater attention to detail that Level 1 lacks. Level 2 paint jobs cost $4 for man-sized models, $7 for large creatures, $14 for vehicles and Titans cost $20.
Level 3 - This would be a good choice for demi-leader type units, like Aspiring Champions or Nobz. This level's models benefit from careful attention to detail, inking and drybrushing. It couldn't stand toe-to-toe with models like you see in the showcases at GW stores, but it is indeed a fine job. Level 3 paint jobs cost $6 for man sized models, $10 for large creatures, $18 for vehicles and Titans cost $30.
Level 4 - Heh, I wouldn't recommend this unless you only want one Level 4 model, or you won the lottery :) Level 4 models benefit from mixing inks and paint to achieve different effects, tireless drybrushing, sponging (it can achieve a wicked looking affect on Nurgle models), highlighting and comprehensive attention to detail. Level 4 models also benefit from having their eyes painted (Level 3 and below do not have eyes painted, it's a very tough job to make it look nice). Level 4 paint jobs cost $12 for man-sized models, $20 for large creatures, $25 for vehicles and Titans cost $40.
Level 5 - This is the full shebang! All the benefits of Level 4 are included, plus Hellish bases are thrown in for free, if you'd like! You also get to tell me how you want me to make the bases, like, if you want a Dark Angel clutching his throat, gasping for breath, I'll make that dream reality! Also, the detail level is even greater than Level 4, every possible nook and cranny is painted, even the stuff that your opponent won't see (like the underside of a Rhino). Although the price is high, keep in mind that for Level 5 figures, I need to devote virtually an entire day to each model! Level 5 paint jobs cost $20 for man-sized models, $30 for large creatures, $40 for vehicles and Titans are $60.
This paint guide is for Warhammer FB and 40k. For miniatures for other games, I'm happy to paint them, but I may need information about their paint schemes. I will charge less than normal for other company's miniatures, since it's refreshing to paint the same old GW stuff :) Included in this category are Warzone miniatures, Heavy Gear, Jovian Chronicles, Battletech etc. For these, just ask me. It depends, I might even paint it for free if it's something really fun to paint, like a mech.
Conversions have no static prices, since they can differ greatly. For a conversion, email me with your instructions, and whether you will provide all the models/bits needed, and I will give you a price.
