Anime
That's right, anime. I know, I know, anime on a Warhammer 40k, to some of you this may be heresy (bah, Philistines). This is my other passion, besides Warhammer 40k. Japanese animation, or, more commonly known as Anime (french word for animation). Some of you that aren't familiar with anime may recognize this as 'oh yeah, isn't there that cartoon called Sailor Moon that's anime?'. Others may be something like, 'huh?'. In either case, just look at the pretty pictures :) For the rest of you diehard Otakus (or not so diehard), enjoy this section. Note: All of these pics are from other sites. If any webmaster does not want his/her pics up on my site, email me and I will remove them immidiately.
My favourite anime is definitly Neon Genesis Evangelion. Here's a pic:
Giant mecha, strong religious overtones and women-you-wish-were-your-girlfriend make this the best anime of all time. Although the ending sucked like a vacuum cleaner, very few animes have come even close to the greatness of Eva. I highly recommend this anime, I'd give it a 9/10.
Here are some more Evangelion pics:
Two pics of my second favourite Eva character, Asuka Sohryu Langley. My first would definitly be Gendo Ikari, he's just so cool. Man, if Asuka were my girlfriend, I wouldn't be sitting here typing this, or even making a 40k page :)
Here's are two pics from the Anime Iczelion, another anime I've watched. I think it's actually pretty crappy, but seeing girls fighting monsters in alternate dimensions somehow appeals to me.
Ahhh, now here's another good anime. Those Who Hunts Elves may not seem like the greatest of animes at first glance, but when you actually sit down to watch it, you won't be dissapointed. It has lots of humour, especially in the dubbed version. In what other anime will you hear references to Britney Spears? In AD&D I have a character based on one of the characters from Those Who Hunt Elves. Here are some pics:
Here are two pics of my AD&D character based on my favourite TWHE character, Celcia Marikareel. She's an Elven Cleric :)
Ahhh, Armitage III. If Evangelion is my favourite series, well then, Armitage III is definitly my favourite anime movie. I really liked the dubbed version, the acting, storyline and feel of the anime was definitly great, and the characters were memorable, since the characters had depth.
 Here's Armitage herself.
Here's another great series, Maps. Well, actually they're OVAs, but well, whatever. It's a great series, but it has it's problems. For one, all the characters except Lipumira Gweiss, the heroine, are all very wishy-washy and aren't memorable at all. The story also had some major problems, like one of the characters getting stabbed to death then coming back to life unharmed. I liked it, others hated it, rent it for yourself, it has great strongpoints (a nifty themesong, a blonde babe who bleeds when her ship takes damage), so you may like it. Pics of Maps:
 Lipumira shocked.
This pic is my desktop wallpaper :)
From left to right: Gen (main male character), Hoshimi (his woman) and Lipumira, the only decent character.
This is actually my favourite character in Maps. She's Daine (or Lipudaine, whichever you prefer), and she's a villan.
MD Geist. Heh, this is my second favourite anime. This just kicks so much ass. MD (Most Dangerous) Geist is a genetically engineered supersoldier of such epic proportions that he was deemed so dangerous, he was imprisoned on a orbiting space station in suspended animation high above the planet Jerra, a world much like Earth, but a world constantly at war. Well, when he gets out, he has a serious hankering for some ass kicking :) This two part series was the best 8 bucks I ever spent renting this anime. I've rented it several times since too. He's too damn cool! You can shoot this guy in the head, stab him, punch him, he never dies. Here are some pics of the Lord of Death himself:
Here's a rather cryptic pic of MD Geist. Here is another pic of Geist in his funky battle armour.
On a lighter note (far less 'heavy' than MD Geist), is Megami Paradise. This is a two-part series about a place that exists only in the dream of every (straight) man on the face of the Earth. Megami, in Japanese, means babe. Needless to say, this series is about the best thing you can get if you're under 18, since it isn't hentai. Mind you, it's not the thing to watch with your parents, either :) My favourite characters are Juliana and Stasia. DAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAMN. :)
