| I was planning to update this site before the Forth of July but I encountered server problems and could not publish the site. So here we go. Pre-Fourth of July weekend was an unsuccessful one for me personally. We (Mercedes and I) started out the weekend for YPW at the Fish in New Bedford for our monthly show. It was myself teamed up with The Score's SAT against Curt Daniels and Andy Jaxx for the Tag Titles. Now let me get this straight. If I am 1/3 of the YPW Tag Team Champions why the hell am I teaming up with one of my enemies to wrestle for the Titles? If we won the match would that make me a 5x Tag Champ or since I am already the champ would it still count as my fourth title reign? I must say that the low crowd reaction for me and the beer breath of Andy and Curt got me a little upset during the match and you saw a different Mike Paiva. The match ended when Mercedes got on the apron to hit Andy with the heel of her shoe but ended up hitting me on the back of the head instead. This was followed up by a double team maneuver for the 3 count. I got upset and verbally bashed Mercedes. I apologized and said I would make it up to her next Friday (June 6) at the P.A.L. |

| The Next day Mercedes and I traveled up to Portland, Maine for the Eastern Wrestling Alliance. The EWA held a day-long event from 2:00 in the afternoon till the last show ended around 10:00. Mercedes lent her expertise to the EWA New England Champion El Tornado who reminded me a lot of former YPW Tag Team Champion Kid Krazy. Mercedes helped Tornado win his first match against Chris Venom with a tilt-a-whirl head-scicors and later in the night helped Tornado win his second match against a member of the Elements of Suicide in a great match. The finish saw Mercedes hit a wheelbarrow bulldog followed by a moonsault by Tornado. I was entered in a Royal Rumble for a shot at the EWA Heavyweight Champion Don Juan DeSanto at #16 out of 20 so I had good odds but not that good as Adam Booker and Dr. Heresy took advantage of me several times until I was eliminated. Overall the EWA was a great experience for Mercedes and myself, we cannot wait to return. On Friday the 6th, YPW returned to the P.A.L. Hall in Fall River. I was scheduled to be the third entry in a Lightweight Gauntlet match for a shot at the champ Ricky Vasquez. When I made my way toward the ring to take on Suicidal Silva, I had high hopes. Silva previously had hurt his back doing a somersault dive off the balcony onto Rage. I took advantage of this and applied the Octopus. After that Blade made his way to the ring. In the risk of sounding redundant please read the YPW Message Board for the rest. Shifting gears a little, I would like to comment of "Tough Enough." Although I think the show is entertaining I cannot help but wonder how these "contestants" will fare in the ring several months from now. In front of thousands of fans. Nine weeks of training does not give you the skills needed to succeed in the WWF. What about the workers who bust their asses week in and week out? Guys like Adam Booker, the Damned, Dr. Heresy, Damian Houston, Curt Daniels and myself give our lives to work in front of crowds ranging from 20-300 for a usually not so great pay. I spent $80 this week on my trip to Maine to do what I love. If these men and women really wanted to be wrestlers they would have found the nearest wrestling school and picked up the tricks of the trade there. Having your goal, "...to be in Playboy." is not going make you know what it is like to be a professional wrestler. BTW I am rooting for Josh. Until Next time... |
