Sailor Moon R
Episodes Reviewed: All dubbed
Overall Grade:B+;A
That's B+ For Doom Tree, A for Dark Moon Family. I like both, but I think the Doom Tree was lame.
Storyline: 5;8
That's 5 for Doom Tree, 8 for Dark Moon Family. Doom Tree is about two aliens who come to Earth to take energy so that they may live. Lame. Dark Moon Family involves time travel. Much better.
Genre:Action/Comedy
Must I say something here? Okay, there's also Drama and Romance. The R stands for Romance, I'm told.
Ch. Development: 7
We learn little more about the Sailor Soldiers here. You'll have to watch the original to learn about them, but you can still learn a bit about them if you listen to their conversations- just as long as it's subtitled.
Sexuality: 4.5
In a word: little.
Romance: 9
I'm sure that's what the R stands for in SMR
Drama:6.5
It gets climactic twice in the sam series..
Action:5
Same non-violent action until the endin eps.
Comedy:8
Same type of comedy in the series.
Dub
Dub Voices:
Average
Dub Music:
Horrible and too repetitive
Dub Lines:
Eh... okay.
Censorship:
They edited some stuff, cut some stuff, and "Americanized" it.
Sailor Moon R... thankfully the last time DiC messed with an anime. This anime is full of Sailor Moon Romance and just a little less of the comedy you're used to from Sailor Moon. There are some hilarious moments, and some dramatic moments, but sacrifice is something you have to deal with in each Sailor Moon series. There are actually two completely different plots in the R series, one concerning the Doom Tree, two aliens, Ail and Ann, and Serena/Usagi trying to win back Darien/Mamoru, who has forgotten everything that happenes in the original series. Of course, everyone has until Luna (The black cat with the crescent moon on her forehead) reminds the Sailor Soldiers about what happened using some memory recovery trick. The Second plot concerns a girl from the future arriving on Earth who has the Black Moon Family after her and her crystal, which was stolen in her time. Some of you will/have guessed right away who this girl is, whereas others who are somewhat gullible have no idea who she is until it is all revealed near the conclusion. This series is in some ways an extension of the Sailor Moon series, with a more serious tone, though not by much. I have said this before, and now I will finally stop.
That's my story and I'm sticking to it!
