Sailor Moon S
Episodes Reviewed: All dubbed
Overall Grade: A-
The addition of the Outer Senshi as well as yet another upgrade of the Inner's powers is interesting enough to get me watching.
Storyline: 8
Four new senshi join the fight against more evil-doers who use weak monsters to fight in order to take the three talismans that would join together and form the Holy Grail, which is better than Purity Chalice. It's a nice boost for the Sailor Moon series.
Genre: Action/Comedy
Yea.
Ch. Development: 8
26 episodes.
Sexuality: 2
As if we ever needed this crap.
Romance: 4
Not emphasized enough. Thank you.
Drama: 6
I've been laying off on Genre, maybe I should be laying off on this as well. Sacrifice is the key factor here once again.
Action: 8
More of the same damn powers.
Comedy:7
More of the same damn humor.
Dub
Dub Voices:
Below Average
Dub Music:
Nonexistent (wow!), but opening and ending:Why?
Dub Lines:
Ahem: "You're trippin' girl, you're totally buggin' quit buggin' girlfriend!" and "Wow, girl, that is SO phat, it's da bomb! Where my dawgs at home slice?" Well, not so exaggerated.
Censorship:
Often irrelevant
Sailor Moon S was supposed to be great, but bad dubbing flaws just ruined it. Either way, it is great because it introduces the Outer Scouts/Senshi and has a great, solid, original plot, yet somehow, dubbing laws prevents us from learning the whole plot. Cloverway may be working great in Mexico, but in America, it just doesn't work. Why can't they do good jobs in America? Let's see... the daimons are sent to capture Heart Crystals, like energy and gems in Classic and energy in R, and simply called upon in R2. In Super S it's Dream Mirrors. Some of the funnier moments are ruined, some of the dramatic moments are ruined, and there are horrible lines everywhere. Watch the Japanese version and be happy. That's my story and I'm sticking to it.
