Sailor Moon Super S
"They're buggin', they're totally trippin'! They're buggin' for sure!" =:|
Episodes Reviewed: All dubbed
Overall Grade:B
The story was good, but cheesy and, (sorry), dumb. Gomen, GOMEN!
I just don't buy the dream thing.
Storyline: 5
The creator focused on story, I'm sure, but to fill about 26 episodes, you need to have 24 differen monsters and 20 "who cares?" characters.
Genre: Action/Comedy/Sailor-Suited Girls
Another series, another ACSSG.
Ch. Development: 3
This series was meant to be a told story, not more development. This would have gotten a lower score, but Vera-Vera is SO kawaii!
Sexuality: 2
The most you'll see is with the (shudder) monster of the day. Yuck! Oh, and for some reason, Cwi decided to add in the topless scene with Rini/Chibiusa. Strange-ass shit. Especially since they're even to wussy to show us slight details during the scout transformations.
Romance: 6
What do you expect from a Sailor Moon series?
Drama: 6
See above
Action: 5
In terms of action, but not violence. There is always fighting, but pretty much no blood.
Comedy:10
Yeah, there's definitely the comedy, and there isn't much of anything else. With the romance deal left at the R series and main violent concentrations at Classic and S, we have just comedy here.
Dub
Dub Voices:
Below Average
Dub Music:
Nonexistent/4 for opening and ending
Dub Lines:
"You're trippin' girl, you're totally buggin' quit buggin' girlfriend!" "Girl Power!!"
Censorship:
Often irrelevant. I mean, buildings? Come on!
The Super S series isn't as good as I thought it would be. This is mostly due to the fact that Cloverway SUCKS. Thankfully though, there's a lot less demon cleavage than S and lots of girls in skirts. The first part with the Amazon Trio is my favorite part, especially because of how each of them pick their tragets according to their tasste in girls and the often amusing way it ends up. You gotta admire Tiger's Eye for picking so many girls and often getting some of them to fall in love with him... on a level. For the Amazoness Quartet part, well, It's not as fun. If anything, they just make things cuter. I don't really like the whole "Dream Power" thing, if that even exists in the Japanese version, and the dub makes it even worse, if not existent. I wonder just what happened to the Outer Soldiers, and why not even for a moment they didn't show a scene with baby Hotaru just to let us know that she's still an actual character. Oh well.. there's always Sailor Stars...
That's my story and I'm sticking to it.
