Card Captor Sakura

Episodes Reviewed: 9-current, WB dubbed version

Overall Grade:B+
It's one of those "collecting things" animes.

Storyline: 9
See above, then think tarot cards with living counterparts.  How to get the Death card...

Genre: Shoujo Action
I say this since it's different from other action.  It simply isn't violent, and I'm not sure what the other genres are.

Ch. Development: 5
Oh, yeah, plenty of that... Well not really.  Sakura gets to be more mature (I think) and people learn things about themselves they never even knew.... but there isn't much.

Sexuality: 1
I haven't seen much yet, but I'm sure there's something to put that 1 there for.

Romance: 5
Next time, someone tell me about things that are stupid so I can change them earlier.  Average Romance, the subtle kind.

Drama: 5
Average.  Nothing really big, but existing, and being better than other anime such as, say, Zoids.

Action: 4
Think pokemon, but not as cute.

Comedy: 9
Think shoujo. (Sailor Moon)

Dub
Dub Voices:
(hurls)- wait, not too bad, but still, (hurls)

Dub Music:
(hurls)

Dub Lines:
(hurls)- at least there's no slang- not much... (Remembers names) "Torrie" is Sakura's brother?  Her best friend is "Madison"? She likes "Julian"?  (Passes out)

Censorship:
At least eight episodes.

Card Captor Sakura was bought by the WB to compete against Fox Kids when they bought Vision of Escaflowne.  I have not watched much of either, since I feel that both networks are shameful for not even airing the FIRST EPISODE- WHICH SHOULD EXPLAIN OR INTRODUCE YOU TO THE PLOT.  No.... Kids WB had to start the series when Li arrives so that they could dub it "Card Captors", rather than Card Captor Sakura.  I would have even accepted "Cardcaptor S", but no.

Card Captor Sakura is about a girl (can you guess the name?) who accidentaly releases the Clow Cards from the Book of Clow.  Each card holds a special ability or can control an element.  Sakura is told by Keroberos that she must capture them all and return them to the Book of Clow.  I got this info from educated guessing, since I DIDN'T EVEN SEE ONE OF THE FIRST FIVE EPISODES!   YOU GUYS SUCK!  WHY MUST YOU AND FOX KIDS TORTURE AMERICAN OTAKU?  STOP DOING THIS TO ANIME!  Ahem.. sorry. They do a good job with Pokemon.  Well, 4Kids Entertainment does, anyway.  They don't do a good job advertising it though.  And I guess Nelvana is to blame rather than KidsWB!, but people know KidsWB! better than Nelvana.  So... KidsWB! decide to start things off when Li arrives.  Li is a little boy who has some sort of mystical lineage and can also capture cards of the Clow.  In fact, he has captured some powerful ones already.  I think this guy talks too big for a little guy.  As the show progresses, Sakura gains more and more cards and has more magic energy for use.  Plus some dramatic stuff comes nearing the end of the first half of the show and near the end of the second half as well. That's all.  Scroll down for the motto.

That's my story and I'm sticking to it!
