Digimon: 02
Episodes Reviewed: All, dubbed
Overall Grade: B
Ignore the horrid dubbing, and it kicks ass! Of course, I nor anyone else might never know of the editing that takes place....
Storyline: 8
6 kids are called to the digimon world to save it once again... it soon grows into much more than 6. Just now, it's headin' into global proportions. Could there be a Digimon GT era coming soon? Update: No, it's probably just going to be a saga that may end a major story arc.
Type: Action/Comedy
Nothing needs to be said.
Ch. Development: 10
We sometimes learn a little too much.
Sexuality: 2
VERY little, yet existent.
Romance: 4
A crush on a girl should count. Strangely, if you were listening hard enough in that one episode, you'll notice that Saban added in some sort of "strip poker" joke. Hah! Saban does NOT know what they are doing. Do us all a favor and give Pioneer the distributing rights, AND let them do whatever they want to the DVD. No, they won't defile it OR make it into the tool of the devil, they'll just enhance it in ways you'll never eeeeeever comprehend. Baka!
Drama: 6
Yes, there is drama, but it's all watered down by (shudder) Saban.
Action: 5
Some of the same violence from 01, but toned down quite a bit. Why did I put a 9 up there before?
Comedy:8
Mostly dub attempts at comedy. Screw you, Saban! Yeah! And your racist humor and attempts at making the show more mature have backfired on you!
Dub
Dub Voices:
At least some of them have talent... it's the casting people who got it wrong.
Dub Music:
(hurls twice)
Dub Lines:
(hurls thrice) too... many... bad... jokes...
Censorship:
Quite a bit, and they... (hurls) uhh... ?
Digimon must not be turned down for the Pokemon clone people think it is. It's quite original, and is bastardized because of the same hellish things Saban did to DBZ a few years ago if you remember. Digimon: 02 is not that much better than the first so far, but it has the potential. If I had any info on the Japanese version, or access, which isn't likely since it's handled by Saban, I'd love this anime.
Digimon 02 starts about 4 or 5 years later, maybe up to 8 years, I'm not sure, after Digimon: Digital Monsters. The same music from the Dub is kept, and joined with worse ones. The Japanese version is, as always, more serious and less dumbass. Oh, and less "Digi-". This time around, the evil power is the Digimon Kaiser, or, for you foolish American-version fans, the Digimon Emperor, which I guess makes sense. He creats Dark Spires which prevent Digimon from Digivolving and Dark Rings which put Digimon under his control with his Dark Digivice. Plot twists come about 10 episodes or more in. This anime is supposed to be aimed at young teens or younger. Uhh... (I don't think I missed anything... yeah)
*3-24-2001 update*
Hey, this thing is getting even better! Perhaps a GT era in Digimon is happening. I'm interested in it. Since in Pokemon, I already know what direction the plot is going, and I have no idea what will happen next in Digimon, I am really interested. This is not a Pokemon clone! Just watch a few good episodes of it and ignore Saban's decision to not show the unedited Japanese subtitled version of episodes and the THREE movies even though they have DVDs. For Shame! Scroll down for the motto.

After watching a single episode of Ranma½, I noticed how much better this dub could have been. It could never have aired on TV and been released on Subtitled video and DVD. Once again, I must say, For Shame! Saban, once these kids get older, and most of them won't even get into anime, and some of them will become otaku, you won't have many customers left! I suggest you appeal to the otaku community so that you will have at least SOME profit! Scroll down for the motto.
That's my story and i'm sticking to it!
