Demon City Shinjuku
Episodes Reviewed: N/A, subbed
Overall Grade: B
The characters were well designed both art-wise and personality-wise. The action was great, the story kicked ass, there were demons that had to be killed, it was great. My only beef is with ugly monsters.
Storyline: 5
Like I said- kicks ass. I really love anime that involves people with powers such as ki, chi, whatever those powers in Sailor Moon are called, and this anime's "Nempo".
Genre: Action
Gallons of monster blood. Brief nudity. Post-Apocalyptic setting. Tentacles. *cough* *cough* Well?
Ch. Development: 4
We learn about characters as they are introduced.
Sexuality: 4
Brief nudity. Mature themes. And all that other stuff that you see in small text on the back of videos.
Romance: 2
Slight crush. The guy doesn't even take the opportunity to sleep in the same bed with a girl. He sleeps on the floor. She even said it was okay!
Drama: 5
Hmm... the first scene was dramatic and kicked ass.
Action: 8
Well, there are a few gallons of monster blood. There are demons. See "genre".
Comedy: 2
A little early on, before the peace ambassador is kidnapped by demons.
Here we go with another review! Demon City Shinjuku is about this guy who's father was killed when trying to defeat Levi Rah. Levi Rah was once his rival, but he sold his soul to the devil for power. Hmm... fighting game junkies, you know this guy sure sounds like Akuma. As part of the deal, ol' Levi has to turn the Shinjuku district of Tokyo into the capital of evil monsters and demons to kill without purpose. Levi Rah and the other guy, as well as other guy's father are masters of the skill of Nempo, which is incredibly powerful. The good guy doesn't even try to save the world until after the peace ambassador was kidnapped, and even then it was after the ambassador's daughter got into some trouble in Shinjuku. Hmm... sound like Gundam Wing to you? Just slightly. The good guy doesn't have a too good understanding of Nempo, so it really isn't good for him that he has to train while in a city full of monsters out to take his life, and mystic traps. At least he finds some help while he's there. Too bad some of the help tries to kill him and dies. Oh well. Who will win? The answer may never surprise you.
That's my Story and I'm Sticking to it!
