Sakura Taisen OVA
Episodes Reviewed: OVA 1-4
Overall Grade: A+
It was very good despite the fact that it was ripped off the story of a popular Saturn (that's right, Saturn) game.
Storyline: 8
Five or so women with kickass powers protect Japan from demons from the underworld. They are joined by a single man and fun starts.
Genre: Action/Comedy
It's fun and actionpacked. There.
Ch. Development:8
High score for a 4-episode OVA.
Sexuality:4
Mostly innocent stuff.
Romance:5
Low scoring for something based on a game classified as a fighting/date simulator!
Drama:4
The entire series was exciting and dramatic, and it never got old. Sure, there were only 4 episodes, but still...
Action:5
Well, there is some minor mech action, but that's not what you'll be seeing; not for two episodes. There is some other action, but sadly most of it is in the mechs.
Comedy:8
Yep. Full of humor. I'm sleepy, I'll update later.
Dub not seen
Sakura Taisen, Cherry Blossom Wars, or Sakura Wars, whatever you want to call it, is not incredibly full of plot or action, but it should be quite entertaining for a while. It is one of few anime based on a video game series that actually is worth watching! It's only four episodes, and so it's all pretty rushed. I'm pretty sure it's meant to be a prelude to the video game, as the video game story picks things up where the end of the third episode leaves off. That's all. Go home. You are home? Good. Stay there.
That's my story and I'm sticking to it!
