Mobile Suit Gundam: Wing: Endless Waltz
Episodes Reviewed: Toonami OAV version.
Overall Grade:A+
The story was a nice extension of the Gundam Wing Storyline, and it was well worth the wait on Cartoon Network, but I'm still getting the DVD! Ha!
Storyline:7
Little girl claiming to be former Leader's daughter arrives to take over the Earth and Colonies because she is being manipulated by an organization, but five boys in huge-ass mobile suits are going to stop her.
Genre: Action
I believe the word is, duh.
Ch. Development:7
Wow! Finally, an extension of a series that actually let's us learn more about the characters that the actual series does!
Sexuality:1
Seriously, I don't think there is any at all. I was just giving it the benefit of the doubt.
Romance:5
The obvious sub-plot of H&R
Drama:6
Lessons in life and horrible sacrifice... or is there?
Action:8
Believe me, if you see giant robots, you're gonna get action. NO, not THAT action, you ecchi perv.
Comedy:2
Well, it was pretty funny seeing Heero punch Duo like that. Don't get me wrong, I think Heero's a dumbass and Duo kicks ass, but that was funny! Just like in the TV series when that scientist and Trowa punched him. Poor, poor punching bag... er, I mean Duo.
Dub
Dub Voices:7
They work. That's all I can say.
Dub Music:N/A
Nonexistent, like it should be.
Dub Lines:8
It could stand to be just a bit better.
Censorship:
Just blood. Oh, and like fools, Toonami chose to run the OAV version instead of the movie version, which has more footage and an ending that doesn't look strange if you don't put the credits there.
This movie, Gundam Wing: Endless Waltz, was well worth the wait, but during that wait, there were many otaku, both wannabe and pure, who kept talking about Endless Waltz as if they watched it. It informed some, and annoyed many.
Cartoon Network sure decided that they would finally give in to the fans... no, not laying off on Cloverway, and no, not making amends with us by playing the (horrible) dubbed TV specials of DBZ, and no, not showing us subtitled anime of any nature, but by giving us GW: Endless Waltz. I'm sure there was some tampering, but I don't know what it is.
Mariemaia Khushreneda, the daughter of Trieze Khushreneada, is being manipulated by the Barton Faction into taking control of the colonies and Earth. She doesn't know it. The five Gundam boys can't do much about it because they had recently sent their Gundams to the sun. Now, the boys must attack and stall Mariemaia while Quatre tries to intercept the gundams. The only problem: where is Wu Fei!? Well, he joins the faction for reasons of his own. Oh, that's right; Relena gets kidnapped, and that's reason enough for Heero to go after Mariemaia. Eventually, the Gundams are intercepted, all is well, and we learn the true meaning of Christmas. Well, strike that last one.
There's not much opinion for me to post here; I liked it, and you'll like it. I guarantee it!
That's my story and I'm sticking to it!
