Ranma 1/2 OVA
"Where am I now?"

Episodes Reviewed: OVA1-4, 11-12 (??) dubbed

Overall Grade: PTS
After watching the first OVA episode, I was completely obsessed. After watching two more, well, as you can see up there, the anime is given the rare PTS grade, or "Past the Scale" grade.  It's really cool.

Storyline: 10
Ranma and Akane are forced to be married.  Neither one of them is too happy about the idea.  Ranma is under a Chinese curse that causes him to turn into a bust woman whenever he is drenched with cold water.  The curse also affects his father, who turns into a Panda, and others who transform into animals.  There are other Chinese curses out there.  The Chinese curse thing has little to do with the plot, since there really isn't much plot from what I saw.  It's basically a lot of fun, but it must be great fun to make me love it so much.  Several girls are in love with Ranma, and several guys are in love with Akane.  How does this all work out?  With plenty of fun and hilarity!  Watch it and find out! I guarantee it!

Style: Action/Comedy/Romance
In alphabetical order.  If in terms of content, then Comedy/Romance/Action.

Ch. Development :?
I really can't judge it if I only watched six eps. of the OAV.

Sexuality: 3
Basically just some harmless nudity and humor.

Romance: 8
Just look for it... I guarantee there is plenty of it!

Drama: 6
Quite a bit of drama of the classic sense, and plenty of kickassedness to go with it.

Action: 6
There is plenty, but not to any extreme extent.

Comedy: 10
Laughs at every corner! Believe me... every corner.

Dub
Dub Voices: 9
The best ever!

Dub Music: 10
Thank you!  A nonexistent!  In fact, in the dub version, the opening and ending animation song is subtitled!  *Ahem*
*Update* *8/18/2001* There are dub lyrics, and they are very well done. DM gets a 10.

I don't believe that it sucks.

I have heard of Ranma several years ago.  I can't believe that it took me that many years to watch it.  Had I watched it four years ago, I might have had over ten Ranma videos by now since I constantly went to places that had Ranma videos.  Now, I have only watched a rented tape from Blockbuster, and I plan to buy one video when I go to Reno yet again this weekend (As of 4/11/2001). My obsession has begun after only two episodes.  Now you see the true power of Ranma...

If you are not familiar with Ranma, but are familiar with Tenchi, you will notice that the two anime are both alike.  Ranma has girls chasing after him, Tenchi has girls chasing after him.  Both of them have powers and the girls with them have powers as well.  Well, in the case of Ranma, it's more like fighting styles.  Tenchi and Ranma are my two favorite anime, and maybe it's because of this formula, but I need more persuasion.  Currently, for some reason, Ranma is now my favorite of all time.

That's my story and I'm sticking to it!
