Doomed Megalopolis
Episodes Reviewed: 1-4, dubbed
Overall Grade: B-
At a glance, simple and evil. Actually take the time to listen to the plot, and it's more interesting than what the video cover'll have you think.
Storyline: 7
Surprisingly deep, amidst all the senseless bloodshed, magic, ripping-of-the-clothes, and unholy themes.
Type: Action
There is a lot of action and violence. Not to mention sexuality and blood. I'll get to the amount later.
Ch. Development: 4
There is some development, but it's hard to say what is development and what is not when two leading ladies are taken over by an evil spirit.
Sexuality: 7
Several scenes of nudity, scenes of sexual violence. This includes two instances of tentacle rape and one instance of glowing-ball-of-energy-rape.
Romance: 2
I could not find romance, but I did sense it.
Drama: 4
The same-old, same-old: sacrifice and death.
Action: 9
Huge amounts of blood can come out of one person. I guess that death by crushing magic automatically gives you more blood or something.
Comedy: 0
Nothing. Well, I guess I found it funny that a person would risk releasing the most power evil spirit in the universe just to save your demon-possessed daughter.
Dub
Dub Voices: 5
Average.
Dub Music: N/A
I think it is...
Dub Lines: 10
Wouldn't have 'em any other way.
Censorship: N/A
Yeah, like this would actually be shown on any network on cable.
Doomed Megalopolis is one anime I never got to know before reviewing it. God kows I tried, but there weren't enough sites listed in the Anipike. This is why, come Monday, I will get this Megalopolis page listed on the Pike in order to warn more people of it. Well, not really warn, but more like educate. This horror-type action anime is about an evil magician named Kato who wishes to release a god of unholy power, but he needs to use a woman in order to do so for some reason, and that woman has to be demon-possessed, so Kato gets one but her body isn't strong enough to withstand the ritual. Therefore, Kato has to rape her using an energy-ball, hoping that her offspring will be strong enough for the ritual. Of course, there are priests that know of this and help to defeat Kato. Of course, he can't be defeated so easily. They need the power of special magic and spells. In Episode 2, they try a spell that traps Kato in a prison he cannot escape from. This is the only spell he cannot combat, yet he is freed when that dumb-ass tries to save his demon-possessed daughter. And so, this series goes on to start episodes 3 and 4, which I won't spoil for you.
That's My Story and I'm Sticking to it!
