Angel Cop
Yeech! OK plot, but horrible themes and sickening visuals.
Episodes Reviewed: 1-6, dubbed
Overall Grade: D+
As sickening as it was, it had an OK plot at the beginning. At that point, it had potential. But then the brought in the robots and espers.
Storyline: 5
Japan is the greatest nation in the world, and communists are trying to take over it, since, if you control Japan, you control the world. Hey, at this point I thought that I was going to see a great anime since the enemies were actual living people from an actual political party of sorts, but then the strange stuff happened.
Type: Action
This had gallons to start with, then there's also brains. Hey, I don't care how hight calibur any gun is, it just can't blow away part of a persons head and break the skull, but not the brains. At that point I realized that I was going to see a violent anime, but I thought that it still was respectable. How wrong I was..
Ch. Development: 10
You see how the characters change. You wonder what happened to that one guy, and they show you later. You see some progress in each of these characters, and you see how they violently die.
Sexuality: 8
For some fanservice, a nudity scene, and a scene of sexual violence, as well as sexual themes in the dialogue.
Romance: 5
There actually is some, but it makes no sense to me. For one thing, romance doesn't actually show its face until one of the two is dying or dead, or if both are going to die in the same 20 seconds.
Drama: 7
You gotta admit that it was pretty dramatic. Sad, anger-inducing, and above-average cool factor. Too bad that you're more likely to be sickened by all that gore.
Action: 9
So much blood, so much brains, why not good? I don't want to believe that ANYONE wants to see brains, but if you're sick like that, this is one anime for you.
Comedy: 1
A single shred of comedy.
Dub
Dub Voices: 8
Above average.
Dub Music:N/A
Censorship: N/A
Why anyone would show this anime on cable or anything else I wouldn't understand.
This anime sickened me. I never like anything with too much violence, but it's not just that. The beginning showed potential with a solid story about a secret group of people working for the government who must protect Japan from communists who want to control the world. Our main man Raiden investigates a building and meets his violent, cold partner Angel, who doesn't give a damn about another person's life. When these two are forced to chase more commies, Raiden crashes and is appearantly killed. Angel doesn't give a damn and proceeds to bring these guys to justice or hell. At the end of the chase, Angel discovers a dead girl hung high to the wall of a building. She sees a long-haired man who disappears suddenly. At this point I say that it's really sick and cheap.
Sure, it's interesting to find out what that man with psychic-like violent powers really wants, and how Angel changes her way of thinking, or what happened to Raiden, really, but it's really tough when you are forced to stomach blood, gore, and inhuman torture. This is one only for the freaks who like to see that kind of stuff. Of course, if you are one of them, you are not a freak; please return to my website. In the end, this anime might make you wonder what the-guy-who-created-this-anime's view on humanity is.
That's my Story, and I'm Sticking to it!
