Bastard!
"You kept calling me 'boy!' Guess what, I'm older than you!"
Episodes Reviewed: 1-2, dubbed
Overall Grade: A
I didn't expect much, but this anime is superb.
Storyline: 8
If I watched more of the stuff I might give it a lower or higher grade. So far, this is really good; an evil sorcerer living in the body of a young boy who must save the kingdom from evil sorcerers. It's actually pretty funny if you think about it, but it also makes sense.
Type: Action
Only a couple gallons. Also sword play and, my personal favorite, magic spells.
Ch. Development: Can't Judge
It's been only two episodes. There's been a little ch. development, but not enough to judge.
Sexuality: 6
It's even in the story, but it makes sense. There's also some fanservice and nudity.
Romance: 5
Quite a bit, and it may show more later in the series.
Drama: 6
It's pretty cool and a bit dramatic. Of course, even I know that the real stuff won't come until eps. 20-26.
Action: 8
Plenty of spell-filled fun! Sorcery and such.
Comedy: 7
Just the way I like it: plenty of action with elemental spells but with plenty of comedy mixed in.
Dub
Dub Voices: 10
Poifect! One of the best I ever stumbled upon.
Dub Music: N/A
Censorship: ???
I doubt there's gonna be a televised version, especially since the title of the show is Bastard!. This show shouldn't be shown on Toonami or any other channel; it's too good for that.
Bastard! is one great anime. Released by Pioneer, with great dub voices, this anime was brought over well. Don't let the name fool you; they don't say "bastard" a whole lot. This story is that of Yoko, a young girl living in a kingdom under siege. As a girl, she was given a blessing that could save the kingdom. In order for it to work, she would have to stay a virgin so that Dark Schneider, a powerful magician who was sealed away, would return and hopefully save the kingdom. The only way for him to do so is by a virgin's first kiss to the young boy named Rushe, where Dark Schneider is imprisoned. Of course, just because he is reborn doesn't mean he has to be grateful; he is evil, after all. Dark Schneider is not like Rushe; he's evil, tall, has white hair, oh, and he has a host of numerous magic spells that could destroy a hydra in seconds. When kissed again, Dark Schneider once again becomes Rushe.
I think that the whole idea of an evil magician doing the job of a hero is funny. It also brings forth some of the funniest scenes. My favorite being when Yoko was take prisoner and Dark Schnieder is brought to save her. Of course, being a power-hungry magician who plans to rule the world, the life of one girl means nothing, and Dark Schneider says: "Once I rule the world, any woman I want is mine for the taking! Yoko, I want, even you, Princess!" Of course, I once again forgot a character's name. Anyway, Bastard! is one anime you won't forget that easily, so you might as well go out and buy the entire series right now! If I had money, I would.
That's my Story and I'm Sticking to it!
