Bio-Booster Armor: The Guyver
Episodes Reviewed: 1-2
Overall Grade: A-
Perhaps the only ultraviolent anime that truly impressed me to this extent.
Storyline: 5
It just seems so old. A boy finds an ultra-secret bio armor while camping.
Type: Action
Not that there isn't any comedy. Also.... I know you want to hear this.... gallons!
Ch. Development: 5
Um.. it looks like enough development. I guess.
Sexuality: 1
From what I saw, there isn't any. Later episodes... maybe.
Romance: 5
Right now it's subtle, but if I know anything, it's that it becomes apparent near the final episodes.
Drama: 4
Not very dramatic, but there are some cool, dramatic scenes.
Action: 7
G-g-g-g-g-gallons! Brains! Not too many brains! Only one or two scenes! Oh, and .... Melting bodies!
Comedy: 6
Keep in mind that there isn't, like, gallons of comedy, if such a thing exists.
Dub
Dub Voices: 3
The story was so good that I managed to ignore the voices. Anyway, they weren't even that bad.
Dub Music: N/A
Maybe there was some, but I don't seem to remember. I do know that I should have recorded the opening song. Man, it kicked ass!
Censorship: ???
I'm guessing NO. If there were some, I'd have to say that the violence should be toned down a bit.
If you've been paying attention, you'd know that I don't usually like violent anime. But this anime was THAT GOOD. Good music, kick-ass scenes, some funny sequences, an evil corporation, everything. While watching, you really get into it and might even wonder how the Guyvers work. Not only that, but they actually help you understand the guyvers and mutants since they give you an in-depth look at the creatures and guyver used in the episode at the end of the episode.
Since you're wondering... A boy, whose name I cannot remember, and his friend go camping. While camping, a mutated creature who has the four guyver units in his possession hides near camp. An evil corporation that mutates soldiers sends a group of their soldiers to find the guyver units. The two boys who go camping stumble upon this secret. Since they saw the mutants, obviously, they must be destroyed. During a battle between the out-of-control mutant and a soldier mutant, the guyver units are scattered around. Our main man, whats-his-name, finds a unit, and it takes control of his body and pushes him into the lake. After the battle is finished, the soldiers must deal with a mutant who lost control of his ability to return to human form while getting to the easier task of destroying witnesses. Just then, a Guyver, something that looks like a robot but is more like it's living, rises from the lake, and destroys the remaining mutants who wish to fight easily. After the battle, (wow, I just remembered his name! I think...) It appears that Sho, our main man, is the guyver! After totally freaking out, the guyver leaves his body and Sho and his friend leave. Now they must keep this secret while fending off this secret evil corporation who want his guyver unit. Excellent work.
That's my Story and I'm Sticking to it!
