Fushigi Yugi: OVA 1 & 2
Me: "Wh- what's going on here?  I thought this was the beginning of the series! <searches video cover> Oh, it's an OVA!"

Episodes Reviewed: OVA 1-3, dubbed; OVA 4-9, subbed no da.

Overall Grade: A
This helped me in liking Fushigi Yugi more.  Of course, it confused me for a while.  But I'll get to that later. No da.

Storyline: 7
A nice sequel to the original series, but not as fun at first.  Hell, not as fun period. No da.

Type: Action/Romance/Comedy
Those three really go together like peanut butter, jelly, and mayonaisse (*sniff* who are you to judge me? Wahhh!) No da.

Ch. Development: 5
The question is, how could you develop the characters even further after an entire series? No da.

Sexuality: 5
Some nudity and humor.  I guess. No da.

Romance: 8
Yep, plenty o' that here. No da.

Drama: 8
Romance and drama really go together in anime.  Just like tacos and taco sauce. No da.

Action: 6
I love this assortment of holy powers.  This, along with comedy, well, it goes together like pot stickers and rice. No da.

Comedy: 8
Plenty of laughs here and there, but the first OVA is much more serious.  Of course, the high comedy score comes from the extra bonus videos after each episode.  Don't miss 'em! No Da!

Dub
Dub Voices: 8
Some of 'em were exactly how I imagined they would be, ya know!

Dub Music: N/A
Nonexistent, ya know!

Censorship: N/A
Toonami ain't showing it, but they probably are thinking about it, ya know!

Hey, this anime gets high marks for being incredibly memorable, with opening and closing music that sticks in your mind like fish on teeth.  Highly memorable characters, plenty of fun, serious stuff, bonus extras after each episode, this series has nearly everything!  Usually I would forget most of the characters, but just look at me! Yui, Miaka, Tamahome, Tasuki, Chichiri, Chiriko, Hotohori, Mitsukake, Nuriko, Nakago, Amiboshi, Suboshi, and that's all I remember.  Anyway, this takes place after the events of the Manga/TV series, but you can still jump into it.

OVA 1
Tamahome and Miaka visit some graves, but some sort of magic pulls Tamahome back into the Universe of the Four Gods, and in Konan!  He seeks the current emperor and identifies himself as Tamahome, but when the light of Suzaku forces him away from ancient Suzaku relics, he is punished severely, and leaves Tamahome confused.  Later, it becomes appearant that the soul of Seriyu warrior Nakago lurks in his body, and he starts to believe it after he fires off energy beams from his hands!  What has happened to the Universe of the Four gods, and who is behind this?

OVA 2
To prevent what happened in OVA 1, Tamahome and Miaka are returned to the real world,  but Tamahome appears far away from Miaka and is known as Taka.  Somehow, they find each other again, but Tamahome's memory has been erased.  But when strange happenings happen in Miaka's school, Miaka and Taka return to the world of the Four Kingdoms!  Once there, Taka and Miaka find Chichiri and Tasuki and learn that Tamahome can gain his memory back be searching for the 7 Memory Crystals that were entrusted to the Suzaku 7.  But there is still the mystery of what happened in Miaka's school and who that new student really is. Well, we learn this and that as the series goes along and the real threat in the evil demon what's-his-name.

Great stuff, really.  Still, I prefer the original story, and even then I might prefer the manga.

That's my Story and I'm Sticking to it!
