Street Fighter V
Episodes Reviewed: 1-3, dubbed
Overall Grade: B-
Good, but I don't want it to look too good. Still, the best Street Fighter animation conversion out there (that I know of so far).
Storyline: 6
Two guys, Ken and Ryu, travel the world to search out the world's greatest fighters, Street Fighters. They do this after both having their asses handed to them by Guile. This is one reason I don't like this. Ryu would never be beaten by Guile. Oh well.
Type: Action/Comedy
I appreciate the comedy factor.
Ch. Development: 5
I'm guessing that there's just enough.
Sexuality: 2
Nothing noticable so far, but there's still several episodes to go. Maybe this is a TV series? I don't know. If it is, there's a 87% chance that it's 26 episodes in all.
Romance: 2
Nothing noticable so far, but... ah screw it. Just look above.
Drama: 5
Some great action scenes, and a tearful goodbye. Well, not really tearful. And not much of a goodbye.
Action: 7
Ready... 3, 2, 1... it's based on a fighting game!! Heh, bet 'cha thought I was gonna say gallons of blood, huh? Well too bad.
Comedy: 5
There's plenty of comedy to go with that action. Nice blend.
Dub
Dub Voices: 6
Above average.
Dub Music: Nonexistent.
However, the eyecatches have music very reminiscent of something I heard on an elevator.
Censorship: Maybe...
I never really watched Sci-Fi when they showed anime, so I'm not at all sure.
Street Fighter V is very different from the video game. In fact, the American-made cartoon was more faithful to it. However, that's not to say that it's bad. In fact, aside from Sakura Taisen, this is my favorite Video-game based anime! Yep, I like it better than Pokemon. That's not to say that Pokemon is bad, but it's also not to say that Pokemon is good either. It's average. Bah, enough of that crap, it's on to the in-depth!
Ryu lives somewhere far from technology. No, not in the amish country.... unless there's an equivalent in Japan. Anyway, his old training buddy from America, Ken, asks that Ryu come over to his place. Once he gets there, he finds that Ken is incredibly rich. I mean, he's so rich it's not even funny. Well, maybe a little funny. Either way, Ken says that he isn't getting enough competition around there, which is why Ryu is asked to come. After that, they have a night on the town and beat up some guys in a bar. Ater that, their captain barges in and beats the crap out of Ryu and Ken. As you might guess, the guy is Guile. Well, after Ken goes after Guile later, he ends up in the hospital, not knowing what just happened to him. Well, Ken decides that he and Ryu should go around the world, searching for competition and hopefully get stronger with each battle. First stop: Hong Kong. Now, you might think that the next character to show up is Fei Long, but no, it's Chun Li! Of course, Chun Li looks younger and more feminine in this version, and Ken makes it his business to hit on her. Hmm. Chun Li doesn't seem to act like an undercover agent... Well, what it all comes down to is... it's a very different version of the game, but it's still pretty cool and fun and deserves to be watched. Now go and watch it! Don't make me go tatsu-maki-senpu-kyaku on you!
That's my Story and I'm Sticking to it!
