Fatal Fury: The Motion Picture
Episodes Reviewed: Movie, Sci-Fi Channel dub, DVD
Overall Grade: A
It's great. One of the best anime based on a video game. Perhaps the best. It was perfectly done.
Storyline: 10
Assorted characters roam the world to find and protect the armor of mars (I think that's what it was) from a man who wishes to collect them and become the most powerful being in the universe. Much better than the tired "Characters battle large evil force; only main character(s) goes through some sort of ch. development."
Type: Action/Comedy
A nice mix.
Ch. Development: N/A
But at least it isn't just one or two characters out of the who-knows-how-many characters.
Sexuality: 6
Some suggestive themes and brief nudity. Not like I saw any.
Romance: 7
Forget what I said in previous editions; the romance here is somewhat straightworward and obvious.
Drama: 8
Some of the best action sequences I saw in here. It really gets you pumped up and ready for the kick-ass climax.
Action: 6
Fighting and auras and stuff. Not much blood, but I guess that's just the censorship talking.
Comedy: 6
Plenty of comedy as well. Definitely some funny scenes.
Dub
Dub Voices: 10
Perfect choices.
Dub Music: N/A

Dub Lines: 10
They made me laugh, they couldn't make me cry, but that's normal. Oh, and not laughing in an insulting way, either.
Censorship:
Cut some naughty scenes here and their, I guess, and perhaps anything too violent.
I only managed to watch the last 74% of Fatal Fury: The Motion Picture when I suddenly saw it on the TV Guide Channel Listings. I immediately switched to the Sci-Fi channel and watched the most of the anime I ever saw. I do remember seeing it before, and there was something in that version missing in the version I saw, and that was the scrambled censoring of Mai's ass. I don't know what the actual name for that tool is, I just know that I see three types of censoring: "scrambled picture," "barred image," and "cut scene."
The story is better than anything I heard of, because it's actually original for a change! Well, better compared to other anime based on a fighting video game. There are auras and the special attacks of the characters are done perfectly, not like the strange way they implemented it on Night Warriors. I tell you, it was so stupid it isn't even that funny. Now, since I couldn't see the entire picture, I can't give you a solid plot, but it was great. Not entirely action-oriented; they had some great scenes of comedy and stuff like that. This is an almost perfectly-done anime, so see it if you can, and if you can, try to rent or buy the video/dvd instead of watching it on Sci-Fi.
That's my Story and I'm Sticking to it!
