Samurai Shodown
Episodes Reviewed: Movie, dubbed
Overall Grade: C
Another passable anime based on a fighting game. Yep, that's right, passable.
Storyline: 6
The holy warriors were betrayed by one of their own who sold her soul to a being much like the devil. Reborn a hundred years later, they relearn about their purpose and work to destroy the evil in the world.
Type: Action
And very little comedy.
Ch. Development: N/A
There is some development. As you might guess, it goes only to the "main character" of the game. Those idiots...
Sexuality: 2
Not that much.
Romance: 4
Implied only. But I gave it a 4 anyway.
Drama: 6
Some great dramatic battles and a dramatic end, but still nothing that can get you really worked up. Unless maybe you're a SS fan.
Action: 7
A whole bunch of action and burning and slicing. Only a few pints of blood per scene with blood.
Comedy: 3
A bit early on. Not much later.
Dub
Dub Voices: 8
The casting makes sense.
Dub Music: Nonexistent
I think.
Dub Lines: 8
Makes sense.
Censorship: N/A
And there would be no need for censorship even if it did air.
Nothing special here, really. Like with most fighting game-based anime, we follow one or two main characters on their quest to fight whoever. Look up at storyline to check out the plot. There are some special powers and stuff, and if you like Samurai Shodown the video game, this might be a good enough anime for you, otherwise, what's the point in watching? No point, that's what. This is my shortest review ever. This anime was unimpressive, but it wasn't bad. Worth a look at if you want to.
That's my Story and I'm Sticking to it!
