Dragon Ball (Manga)
Mangas Reviewed: Graphic Novels 1 and 2.
Overall Grade: A
I'd give this a PTS, but, well, only one PTS per category, and I had to give it to Ranma1/2, so, yeah.
Type: Action/Comedy
From what I saw, still more Comedy than Action, but that changes eventually.
Storyline: 10
Goku and pals search to find 7 Dragonballs which can grant the user any wish. Unfortunately, thre are plenty of baddies along the way, and it's up to little Goku to beat them up. In about 5 panels.
Ch. Development: 10
Slowly but surely, there it is.
Sexuality: 6
Sexual themes and nudity, but hey, there isn't much, so go crazy. So long as they keep this in the original form, I'll be happy. I hope that Viz didn't give in to stupid-ass parent groups, etc. and cover up or edit anything. We all deserve something of an untouched, virgin, if you will, version of Dragon Ball.
Romance: 4
Light amounts of that stuff somewhere.
Drama: 9
Serious serious stuff. AND KICKASSEDNESS!!
Action: 5
From what I saw, nothing really gruesome.
Comedy: 10
Funny, funny, funny stuff. You can't help but laugh your ass off when you see some of the stuff I read. Some stuff even better than Ranma 1/2. Some.
Well, now, I've gotten a little rusty at this stuff, so I truly forgot what to do in this section, but I'll try...
Akira Toriyama's second most popular series, Dragon Ball, never fails to please. With laughs around every corner, fighting, an interesting story, and dumb li'l Goku in the center of it all, confusing and surprising friend and foe alike. Truly one series you must own, but aren't likely to, since you have a realistic amount of money, and graphic novels don't come cheap. Hell, there's at least 20 gcs of Ranma 1/2 out there, but I'm not sure, and Viz is planning to churn out 42 GCs of Dragon Ball. Still, it'll be worth the money.
Call it a comic one more time and we know what's for dinner!
