Episode OAV 1: Ryoko Resurrected!
Synopsis: Tenchi Masaki, a normal High School student who works in his grandfather's shrine, digs through his grandfather's stuff to find keys to the sacred shrine where it is said that a demon who arrived 700 years ago is imprisoned. Given the keys, Tenchi unwillingly frees the demon and swiftly escapes with the hilt of the sacred sword that imprisoned the demon. Some time later at the first day of school, Tenchi oversleeps on the school roof and is attacked by a powerful woman, who identifies herself as the demon Ryoko. After pretty much the destruction of his own school, Tenchi is eventually saved by the hilt of the sacred sword and cuts off Ryoko's hand, causing her destructive powers to go away. Ryoko regenerates the hand and escapes. Realizing that he could be blamed for the destruction of the school, Tenchi promptly leaves as well. At his home, he finds the demon girl sleeping on his bed!
My Two Cents: Obviously, all of the episodes dubbed by Pioneer came out great, so the only things I ever have to gripe about are the censorship issues in this episode. Everything seemed fair and nothing made anything confusing. The only thing I really hated was the dialogue with Amagasaki. That was one of the funniest scenes I ever saw or heard. The dialogue in the beginning of that scene was slightly changed for reasons unknown. Other than that, everything was fine and had purpose.

After Tenchi breaks the seal, branches that block the path to Ryoko's prison move out of the way.
Cut: 11 seconds
After Tenchi makes the remark about doing as many chores for Katsuhito as he says, Tenchi leans back and the jewels on the sword hilt stop glowing. Then for about two seconds the camera zooms back for a shot of Tenchi and the giant stone that fell earlier.
Voice Change:
Amagasaki's voice is changed.
Changed Dialogue/Cut: 19 seconds
The whole conversation between Tenchi and Amagasaki is slightly changed because they had a different person do Amagasaki's voice in order to allow for a cut. Strangely, the cut scene in this conversation went cleanly according to the tape I had recorded this episode on, which was on its first airing, but the most recent airing shows a messy cut (You can see Tenchi and Amagasaki for about a split second before the commercial break).
The Toonami Conversation:
Amagasaki: So you didn't even get to meet any nice girls I guess.
Tenchi: You think girls would come to a shabby shrine deep in the mountains?
Amagasaki: Hmmm... guess not.
Tenchi: Right. Plenty of girls... 82 years old!
Amagasaki: Right I get it! So you dated mummies all summer long!
Tenchi: Yep, dried-up frilly old mummies! (Laughs a lot, then stops abruptly) A mummy.... (remembers the whole 'mummy' incident).
The Uncut Conversation:
Amagasaki: Didn't 'cha get to meet any girls even?
Tenchi: If you were a girl, would you come to a shabby shrine deep in the mountains?
Amagasaki: Hmm... hell no.
Tenchi: Right. Plenty of girls... 82 years old!
Amagasaki: Oh, so you dated mummies all summer long!
Tenchi: Yep, dried-up frilly old mummies! (Laughs a lot, then stops abruptly) A mummy.... (remembers the whole 'mummy' incident).
Amagasaki: Hey, what's wrong Tenchi?
Tenchi: Huh? Oh.
Amagasaki: Tenchi, don't tell me you were so hard up you slept with a mummy?!?!
Tenchi: (Tenchi punches Amagasaki, knocking him across the room) Get a life, clown!
Cut: 18 seconds
When Tenchi takes his nap on the roof, we see it turn straight to night and see a shot of the school. What you missed was Tenchi once again recalling the whole demon incident, then struggle in his sleep. The funny thing is, in the Toonami version, the music that played while Tenchi was dreaming played during the shot of the school at night and ends abruptly when you hear the cat bell. In the uncut version, there is no music.
Cut: 3 seconds
After Tenchi's "it's easy" line, and Ryoko blasts the room Tenchi is in, we see Tenchi outside and saying "what the?" for apparently no reason. Well, when Tenchi runs away from the room, we actually see him run, then we see him bump into Ryoko. Apparently this scene was cut because Ryoko's breasts sorta bounce after Tenchi bumps into her.
Scene Alteration: 8 seconds
When Ryoko rolls over in Tenckhi's bed, some green digital cloth is painted over her cleavage.
Cut: 2 minutes, 6 seconds
Talent for Love, the ending sequence in episodes 1-5 and 7, is cut.
Cut: 29 seconds
The "Next Episode" Sequence is cut.
