Sailor Moon S Movie
Episodes Reviewed: DVD

Overall Grade: B+
While I enjoyed this Sailor Moon movie as much as others, and loved all the action and drama, I just didn't get into the Luna love plot.  It was especially hard when I watched it the first time on Toonami (I was thinking, old people just can't do that), then I realized (much later) that Luna was about a normal age.. probably the equivalent of 20 or so years old.

Storyline: 9
So, a meteor crashes into earth, leaving a mysterious crystal, whom the sub-main-character Kakeru picks up.  Later on, Luna seems to have caught a cold and decides to walk off on her own to home.  Too bad the poor kitty passes out in the middle of a crosswalk.  Fortunately, Kakeru saves Luna, Luna falls in love, sturr happens, and a mysterious, unknown snow witch appears trying to freeze Earth for unknonw purposes.

Type: Action/Comedy/Romance
Or, ARC.

Ch. Development: N/A

Sexuality: 5
Well, I guess Luna's transformation was a little graphic.  A little.

Romance: 6
Luna falls in love, Usagi continuously states her love and makes speeches about it, same old, same old.

Drama: 4
Not really that dramatic.  The battles weren't really that good, the love plots weren't that good, not once did I say "hey, that really kicks ass!"

Action: 5
Same old Sailor Senshi fighting that includes, but is not limited to, magical powers.

Comedy: 6
Pretty hilarious at times.  I like the times when Usagi and Chibiusa do the same thing at the same time.  Also, the dubbing job is pretty funny as well.

Let me put it this way...

Setsuna: (grimly) It's as if time has stopped.

Setsuna: (as if talking in a coffee shop) You know, it's almost as if time has stopped!

Can you say, "out of place" ?
*everyone starts yelling "out of place"*
Okay, you can say those words, but please don't talk to your monitors again.

Better than Super S Movie, that's for sure.

So, for my final Anime Review of the day, I give to you the Sailor Moon S Movie.  The movie might as well be an ordinary episode of the Sailor Moon S series.  Sort of a sidestory to it.  Of course, without Hotaru that just wouldn't work, so let's forget the idea.

The movie was great, but not too special.  It pales in comparison to the Sailor Moon R movie, but it still has many good points.  For instance, the romance plots are respectable, and the action and drama are... okay.  Apparently, the real good parts of this movie were the comedic parts and Tuxedo Mask's appearance.  The battle with Snow Kaguya could have been better/ more dramatic, and Sailor Moon using the Silver Crystal could have been more dramatic as well.  Seriously, I could think up an endless amount of possible ideas that could have greatly improved this movie, but as it is it's okay, worth a rental or two, and worth a purchase so long as you buy the three-movie DVD box set.

That's my Story and I'm Sticking to it!
