Megami Paradise
Episodes Reviewed: OAV 2
Overall Grade: B-
Such great entertainment, such originality, such... fanservice!
Storyline: 7
In Paradise, the negative thoughts of its inhabitants are absorbed by the Astrostar, which is later purified by the Mother Goddess, or the Mamamega (Mama Megami; megami=goddess). So as the new Mamamega ascends the previous one is nowhere to be found, and neither is the Astrostar. The Yamimegas, evil girls with powers, appear and say they have them both. Two of the guardians go out to retrieve the missing Mamamega and Astrostar as well as their kidnapped friend. They fight, there's some good comedy and light-heartedness, and though it is a shojo, there's a lot of fanservice. It seems I failed to mention that the Paradise is inhabited solely by women, have I? Oh well. That's all I can say since I only saw episode 2.
Type: Comedy/Action
Ch. Development: Unknown
I need to somehow find the rest of this series.
Sexuality: 6
There is seemingly an unreasonable amount of fanservice and nudity.
Romance: 0
Though I'm sure you might want to imagine there is some.
Drama: 6
Kickass fighting/powers and all the rest of the stuff I usually complement othe anime about.
Action: 5
Plenty of mystical powers shooting stuff all over the place when you want it to. But then I haven't seen the rest of the series, have I?
Comedy: 7
Does the story sometimes seem too serious? If so, you're watching something else, 'cuz this series changes pace to comedy if it remains serious for more than 5 minutes.
Dub not seen
It's really easy to get into this series because you don't really need to have watched the first episode to understand anything. The characters are fun, and the story is interesting and original. The only problem is that the fanservice is SO not necessary. Oh yeah, I said that the characters are fun. Well they each have their own wacky personality... well, maybe four of them, so you can remember about... four of them, so they're not as memorable as other charcters in other anime, but that shouldn't stop you from checking this out. I haven't even heard of this anime before, so after a little bit of surfing, I'll be able to say that this review is another first on the web! The first exclusive review I ever made here was, I think, Raven Tengu Kabuto, or Doomed Megalopolis. However, I know that I am the only one to have a review of Red Baron, and dare I say, maybe I'll do one on Super Book as soon as I get confirmation that it is anime (the style, I know is similar enough, but the likeliness that it was created in Japan is, well, low).
That's my Story and I'm Sticking to it!
