Armitage Dual-Matrix
Episodes Reviewed: DVD, bilingual
Overall Grade: D
Storyline: 6
It is the future. Mars is currently undergoing a project to give the planet oceans. Ross Syllibus and Naomi Armitage have a child and have changed their names. A lot of good that does them. When the army destroys a lab that held Thirds, Naomi receives a vision, a memory of what happened, and decides to bring justice with her own hands once again. Meanwhile, after Ross stops a terrorist attack on the building he guards (being a security guard, now), it seems that the terrorists that escaped were robots, and the ones he was forced to kill were human. He is sent as a Mars delegate to Earth to vote for a robot rights law, but the man behind destroying the Thirds in that lab in the beginning of the movie knows who he really is and kidnaps his daughter, wanting him to vote against the robot rights law. But with a mother like Armitage, you know all hell will break loose if you screw with her family!
Type: Action
Ch. Development: 1
As always, "1" is a benefit-of-the-doubt number.
Sexuality: 6
More fanservice, but less sexy. Same goes for the nudity. There just isn't any taste in here.
Romance: 5
But when they're married, you already know they love each other, so it becomes the kind of love that goes with family, and that's just boring in an action genre.
Drama: 6
Excessive robot fighting and there's too much of the horror feel going on.
Action: 7
Just like the original, there's plenty of gunfire and robot destruction, but where's the angel mode?
Comedy: 2
Once again, practically nothing.
Dub
Dub Voices: 9
Better, slightly, but they shouldn't have changed the voices. I hate that. Only when they deserve it do I like it.
Dub Music: N/A
Dub Lines: 9
Easily acceptable.
The second movie is hopefully the last, unless they can make one better. Of course, it is my opinion that this movie never should have happened. First of all, there wasn't really any reason for Armitage to get involved at all except for her sense of justice. Second of all, the two are married, and their motivation is saving their daughter, so thinking that much kinda ruins the feel. Third of all, Armitage shouldn't have been damaged that much so easily in that one scene. Fourth of all, there's no Angel Mode! And finally, the animation may look clean, but it also looks ultra-low-budget, and the CG is so out of place it hurts.
Unless you were a huge fan of the original, avoid at all costs.
That's my Story and I'm Sticking to it!
