If my memory serves me correctly... in this world, Digimon card battling is popular. A kid finds a special card and a REAL Digimon. At this point, I should tell you that unlike 02, this is NOT a continuation of the previous Digimon storyline. Eventually he meets other kids with a card and Digimon, and the situation eventually turns into a crisis as more Digimon - some of them not at all friendly - break into the real world, and the key to stopping them may lie with the creators of the game... or am I confusing two different things?

Once again there was entirely too much talking and strange, nonsensical references and lame puns and jokes.

The problem was never with the voices... it was with the execution.

It took a while, but I'm finally doing a review of 03, the last Digimon series I ever watched. I know there are more, but after 02, I lost interest. Digimon in itself is actually interesting, but the dub job is horrible, and they decided to bring in another series through the alternate universe method, which usually works, but in this case, kinda sucks. Overall it's okay... there's some good action, okay character development, and great character designs, plus good animation quality... but the whole thing with a kid finding a friend in the form of a monster, friendship and mutual protection, with the one person who likes to do things on his (er... her) own... it's all been done, and better. 01 and 02 had awesome story arcs and some really evil villains, plus Angemon, but this... well, it had a few good things going for it, but it just wasn't enough. Plus where I live they don't play Digimon reruns ad nauseum anymore, so I never got a chance to keep up with the story (Once a week simply was not enough! What happens if I miss it once or consistently oversleep?) I'm not telling you to avoid it, I'm simply stating that it isn't worth your money if you happen to come across videos or DVDs of it.
