Mobile Suit Gundam: Wing
Episodes Reviewed: All Eps. Toonami Version
Overall Grade:A
It's all quite entertaining, and the anime sends us all a very important message:"Gundamium is very strong".
Storyline: 8.5
Mobile Suits are the weopon of choice, five kids are trained to control the five most technically advanced of them, known as Gundams, and decide to follow their own agendas. We look at Heero more than the rest, because he is the strange suspicious one....
Genre:Action/Drama
I REALLY shouldn't say anything here.
Ch. Development: 10
Yes, over 26 episodes is more than enough.
Sexuality: 2
Very little.
Romance: 3
Also little.
Drama: 7
The key word here is sacrifice. Let's not forget the kickassednass, okay?
Action: 9
Plenty of mecha action and murder and oh, so much blood. I'd say gallons.... if you collected it all throughout the 26 eps.
Comedy:1
It's pretty serious. I'd say the only funny things are if you laugh at how serious a kid Heero is.
Dub
Dub Voices:
Average
Dub Music:
Nonexistent
Dub Lines:
Okay with exception of kill=destroy
Censorship:
Kill=destroy, no blood, none of the ultraviolence
Mobile Suit Gundam Wing was the gundam that I hear about the most. This now has a reason... it's the only one aired on American television... at least it was. Because of the fact that not too many kids liked or understood it, it was pulled out of the Toonami lineup and temporarily replaced by Superman. Thankfully, it was then replaced by Batman, with the slot Batman once had taken over with Outlaw Star. It had some pretty good violence and was the first anime I saw on Toonami to contain swearing. I don't know if Dende saying "don't piss off the Dragon of love" counts, especially since it was such a dumbass line. This anime had much more thinking required than DBZ, and that's something some kids just aren't good at.
Well, this thing is about Gundams arriving at earth to take revenge for the death of Heero Yuy, former peace embassador of the colonies. Others are fighting for other purposes, such as to destroy the Gundams, to fight against the organization OZ, which is said to be behind Heero Yuy's assassination and is behind the taking over of the colonies on a certain level. This thing eventually extends to the search for world peace and stuff like that there. There's even more than that but I just can't remember, It's been a while since Gundam: Wing was cancelled.
That's my story and I'm sticking to it!
