HISTORY:
As a teenager, Alex Flores was something of a "wild
child" and a rebel. She did anything as long as it
upset her parents. This included marrying a man who
wasn't right for her, Eddie Noynik.
Eventually, the marriage ended, but Alex was left with
a daughter, Jamie.

As an adult, Alex pursued a career in Hollywood as a screenwriter. It was on the set of a movie she was working on where she first met Simon Williams. The two of them quickly became friends, which did not go over well with the

movie producer, who was actually the Enchantress in disguise! Amora perceived Alex to be a threat to her control, so she sent Simon to kill her. However, Alex contacted Simon's teammates in the Avengers, and they freed him from the Enchantress' control.

She ran into him again a few weeks later while Simon was on the way to an interview. Alex was quickly developing feelings for Simon, and decided to drop in and see how Simon was doing. Unfortunately, she walked right into a battle between Wondy and Splice, an assassin who was sent to kill him. While Wondy distracted him, Alex snuck up and electrocuted Splice with a severed power cable. Simon was very impressed with Alex's intelligence and bravery.

Alex next saw Simon when she came to the hospital to check on him, after his best friend the Beast had been injured in a battle. Simon was very touched by her concern, and the two of them grew a little closer.

A few weeks later Simon contacted her after returning from the Kree/Shi'ar war. He was deeply troubled by what had happened, and needed someone to talk to. Alex was in the middle of doing some research for a movie, so Simon tagged along with her.

While they were out, Simon decided to try to take their relationship to the next level, and ask her out. Alex was flattered, but decided that he needed to know about Jaime before they started dating.
She took him back to her house and introduced him to her daughter. Simon was stunned, and a little uneasy about this revelation, since he had never felt comfortable around kids.
Before they could really talk about how this would affect their relationship, Simon's friends Ginger and Spider showed up to alert him to a rampaging supervillain. Alex was worried about Simon, and decided to follow along, unaware that Jaime also tagged along, hidden in the backseat of Ginger's car.
Wonder Man lost the fight, due to an instability in his powers caused during the Kree/Shi'ar War. Alex and the others took Simon back to his apartment to recover. Suddenly, Simon's powers flared up, and everyone in the room was bombarded with ionic energy!
Over the next few days, Alex and the others all began to manifest super powers as a result of their ionic bombardment. Alex developed the ability to project
holographic images from her mind.
The others decided to band together as a team of superheroes called the Crazy 8, and take over for Wonder Man, since his powers and mind were still in a state of flux.
Alex was opposed to the idea, but was compelled to go along with it, in order to watch over Jaime and keep her safe, both from physical harm, and from the romantic advances of Spider.
As the most intelligent and level headed
member of the group, Alex became the defacto leader of the Crazy 8 and took on the code-name Auteur.
On their firsy mission the Crazy 8 succeeded in uncovering proof that the Armed Response security
service was actually a scam organized by the crimelord Lotus.
To prevent the Crazy 8 from being able to testify in court, Lotus sent her employees Splice and Rampage to kill them.
The rookie heroes were no match for these experiened and deadly opponents, and were easily defeated.
Splice took the opportunity to get revenge for his earlier defeat by Alex, and stabbed her!
Jaime managed to contact Wonder Man, and he dealt with the villains and managed to get Alex to the hospital in time.
Alex apparently died in the hospital, and her soul was used as a pawn in a struggle involving Mephisto, Blackheart and the Grim Reaper. However, Simon managed to save Alex's soul, and restore her to life. Alex then used her powers to distract the demons so that they could escape back to the realm of the living.

Once there, Wonder Man gathered all of the members of the Crazy 8, and reabsorbed his power from them. However, a certain amount of ionic energy still remains in their bodies.

After her near death experience, Alex and Simon tried to get their relationship started again, but soon a new obstacle came up. Alex was offered a 2 million dollar screen deal in order to write a movie about the "Savage Wonder Man". Reluctantly Alex accepted the job, since she needed the money in order to raise Jaime.

At first, Simon was angry and felt that Alex had betrayed his trust, but later decided that he can't deny his own past and that it was okay for her to write about it as long as she told the truth.
Simon then asked her to marry him, and she accepted!
Unfortunately, Simon was killed before the two of them could get married.

Not long after Simon's death, Alex met Felix Simon and they fell in love. A few months later they were married.

Wonder Man eventually returned from the dead, and came to see Alex in order to settle things between them. Alex was worried that Simon would be upset with her, but it turned out that Simon had gotten involved with
someone else too, and was equally worried about Alex being upset with him! Despite the awkwardness of the situation, the two of them decided to become friendsagain.

Alex continues her screenwriting career in L.A.
