This painting of Wonder Man is from the Marvel Masterpieces card series. The whole first series was painted by Joe Jusko and Marvel re-printed larger versions of the whole card series in comic book form. A little side note to the picture. On the card, Wonderman was holding a silver bodybuilder statue of himself on his bicep, but when he re-did the image, Jusko has Simon holding an Oscar instead._____WonderMan63

The painted card featuring the Grim Reaper. It was painted by Greg and Tim Hildebrandt for the 1994 Marvel Masterpieces Series. They both work on each painting together at the same time. It really captures how scary it would be to accidentily meet up with the Grim Reaper._____WondeMan63

Posted by MrJarvis on June 20 2000 at 13:19:09 PST on the Alvaro Avengers Message Board Since his recent return in the marvel universe, Wonder Man has quickly become my favorite on the avengers roster. I have been meaning to check out this fan site, (which can be found in the links section of this board,) but never got around to it till today... This is the most complete, absolutely best layed out avengers site i have seen yet. It takes you through a virtual tour through wonderman's complete history with the avengers, and is well worth spending a good 4 or 5 hours going through. there is so much stuff it is overwhelming, I have really enjoyed this site, and wanted to make sure that EVERYBODY who likes avengers checks it out. --MrJarvis. Mitchell,

First off, let me say how much I enjoy your site. It's nice to know that there are other Wonderman fans out
there. I was reading the Eternals 12 issue limited series over the weekend and the West Coast Avenger including
Wonderman appeared in Issue 12.

Thanks

I just wanted to write to say - Great site!!!!

Its great to meet a fellow fan of the ionic avenger. While I am happy that Marvel has brought him back, I really wish that Marvel would use him better - and once just once slam Goldie-Locks on his royal but.

Eventhough they have made him very poweful - by the way - is he now able to break the "100 tons" barrier - they keep having him knocked around. In the Marvel Universe - where does he now fit in - what would be his ranking on the strenght chart compared to Thor, Herc, Thing etc.

Again - great site.

By the way - how do you think Wondy would do against Superman?

Hey:
I love your site. I've been a Wonderman fan since his solo series. What is the complete list of Wonderman's powers? I want to start a fan fic, I just need a full list of what Simon can do.

Finding someone with an affinity for Wonder Man equaling my own is such a serendipitous discovery. First, I want to graciously thank you for such an uplifting website dedicated to my "all-time" favorite superhero. All I can
say is "about time!" I am unsure as to how long your website has been active, but I was fortunate enough to find it now. If you own "Wonder Man" issue # 18, which I am sure you do, you will find a letter by me on the fan mail page. Unfortunately, my sense of written prose was somewhat raw at that point in time, but needless to say I still got my point across. Also, if you own all the earlier "Force Works" issues, I have another letter published in the back pertaining to Simon's impromptu demise. I was not a happy camper and I tried my hardest to persuade the writer and editor that
they were paralyzed from the neck up with such an asinine decision. Not to my surprise, neither chose to partake in a debate regarding their foolish choice to kill Simon Williams. How could you kill off Wonder Man? Especially considering the fact he was "supposedly" immortal. In the chance that my intellectual sagacity had taken an unlikely turn for the worse, I looked up the word "immortal" in the closest dictionary I could find, and low and behold, I was correct in the first place. So when his much-anticipated resurrection for the umpteenth time took place, I reached a new level of euphoria. Hopefully, he will stay alive this time. Since 1994, I have become a novelist, and I have contemplated the thought of visiting Marvel Headquarters in New York with a proposition. What would you think if I said I have my own outline mapping Simon's life, and the paths he "should" take? The thought has crossed my mind many times over, and
perhaps it could become a reality one day. I am hoping, anyway, clinging to the belief that many others will share my own preferences. Hypothetically, I would say the story line would encompass the first five years if a new solo series were to happen again. A good start, I would think, and the face of Wonder Man would be changed forever. The most substantial qualm I have regarding Wonder Man and Marvel is I feel they still have yet to tap into his full potential, and this could be attributed to faulty writing. If given the chance, and given the proper writer, he could very easily go on a
solo comic career that could rival if not surpass the success of Todd McFarlane's "Spawn." Once again, thank you for the "wonder"ful website, and I hope to hear from you about the subject.

Sincerely,

Chris A. Meeks

Wonder Man
I've known and liked Wonder Man since childhood. Fun Fact : my parents almost called me Simon but finally called me Éric, heheh.Wasn't the final storyline of the ongoing series great? (I mean the one before the infinity symbol on his belt)
His family, his friends, demons, the devil, etc, it had it all. He even made love to Wanda :Too bad someone stole those comics from me : Your reply encourages me to email Marvel about it.
Éric Roy
p.s. : my favorite Wonder Man costume was the one he was wearing in his ongoing comic, before the infinity symbol
on his belt, but it's not too bad now. He came back to being a more reserved person, again, not too bad also.

Wondy has always been my favourate super hero. My question is, where is he now and why can't he return to the Avengers or better yet, have is own comicbook, coming back even more powerful than before. Please let me know.

Hello,

Just wanted to drop you a note to compliment you on your website. What a great tribute to the most under-appreciated Marvel hero ever!

Wonder Man was always my favorite Avenger. I was a faithful fan from the mid-70s to the late 80s of the Avengers and the West Coast team. Unfortunately, I stopped collecting comics in the mid-90s (the industry just seemed to stop caring about the fans, catering only to the collectors). Anyway, I've been slowly getting back into things, and I
wanted to get the scoop on what Simon Williams has been up to. Your website has been a big help. I have a few questions, though.

Kurt Busiek's resurrection, did it take place during the volume #2 of the Avengers? If so, then how many issues did that series last? There is a Vol. #3 of the Avengers now, right?

Sorry to bug you, but I'm just trying to figure out which comics I need to buy to get caught up with Wondy and the Avengers. Any help you can give me, like which mini-series have been released since the original series was stopped, would be very appreciated.

Thanks,

Mike

there I'm also a big fan of his.
