This ultra modern mega arena is the source for big time entertainment in downtown Phoenix. Big names –- big arena! Although the America West Arena is known for sports -- try Suns and Mercury basketball, Coyote hockey, Sandshark soccer and Rattler’s arena football -- this 20,000-seat sports complex also plays host to today's hottest performers. Productions such as World Championship Wrestling, bands such as Metallica and Korn and timeless icons such as Carlos Santana and Neil Diamond provide diverse and dynamic entertainment electricity.
Digital City Phoenix
America West Arena is one of the best arena built for NBA Basketball. The arena was orginally meant only for that. When the Coyotes came to town, the arena had to go through some changes to make it flexible for hockey playing. The changes, however, do not favor the hockey fans. The north section of the arena, when used for hockey, is hard for fans to see the action when the game play comes their way. That section of the ice, including the goal, is beneath their seats.
The arena is now undergowing new renovations to make the hockey setup more flexible for the fans.
