Gund Arena officially opened its doors to the public on October 17, 1994 with Billy Joel as the grand opening performer. </div> <div> Gund Arena and next door neighbor Jacobs Field (home to the Cleveland Indians) comprise the Gateway Sports and Entertainment Complex.
