The Rose Bowl, originally built for Pasadena's Tournament of Roses, has hosted many events in its long history of existance. The main purpose of the Rose Bowl existance is to hose the famous New Years Day game.
The stadium has also hosted many other events, such as five NFL Super Bowls, the 1982 Summer Olympic Soccer finals, the 1994 Men's World Cup & the 1999 Women's World Cup.
The Rose Bowl is the permanent home of University of California Los Angeles Bruins Football and the Los Angeles Galaxy.
