Tampa's newest crown jewel, The St. Pete Times Forum, is the home of the NHL's Tampa Bay Lightning. The St. Pete Times Forum is situated on a 17-acre site located along downtown Tampa's waterfront. The innovative design of the St. Pete Times Forum provides for 19,500 seats for hockey, 20,500 seats for basketball, and 21,500 seats for center stage events.
The state-of-the-art design of the St. Pete Times Forum is unprecedented. It encompasses 657,000 square feet with three decks and seven separate levels. It also contains 28 lower level suites and 44 upper level suites. Due to their unique design, all of these luxury suites feature excellent sightlines and an "up close and personal" view of the action. Unlike the skyboxes in many other facilities, the theater style seats that accompany the Ice Palace's lower level suites actually allow guests to get as close as 20 rows above the playing surface.

In the heart of downtown Tampa's Channelside District, located between the Tampa Convention Center and the Florida Aquarium, lies the St. Pete Times Forum, one of the premier entertainment venues in the Southeast. Home of the National Hockey League's Tampa Bay Lightning, the Arena Football League's Tampa Bay Storm and more than 150 concerts, family shows and sporting events each year, the St. Pete Times Forum has been the centerpiece for downtown development and growth since it's opening in October 1996.
The 21,500-plus seat, multi-purpose facility is designed to accommodate a wide variety of events while providing guests with optimum sightlines, a wide variety of amenities and conveniences and first-rate service to make every visit a memorable experience. The building's flexibility offers patrons almost every kind of entertainment imaginable, including rodeos, concerts, basketball, ice shows, tennis, circuses and trade shows.
Because the world-class facility features so many unique and appealing amenities, the St. Pete Times Forum has built a reputation of being one of the most fan-friendly and guest-oriented arenas in the world. The building boats more than 3,000 Club seats with a private concourse and in-seat wait service, 80 private luxury suites on two separate levels and two large party suites located at both ends of the bowl. All seats in the arena, whether you are on the Plaza, Club or Terrace levels, have an incredible proximity to the arena floor and excellent sightlines to view the notion. The St. Pete Times Forum also features two gourment restaurants. Ventanas and the Palm Court, complete with a panoramic view of downtown Tampa, and The Lord Stanley Club bar, overlooking the action on game nights.
The state-of-the-art facility's lease-hold rights are owned by the Lightning's parent company, Palace Sports & Entertainment, a Detroit-based company that also includes the Detroit Vipers of the International Hockey League, the Detroit Shock of the Women's National Basketball Association, The Palace of Auburn Hills and Pine Knob Music Theatre. Owned by William Davidson, the managing partner of the National Basketball Association's Detroit Pistons, David Hermelin and Robert Sosnick, PS&E has rapidly evolved into a leading sports conglomerate since it's start in 1988. When PS&E purchased the Lightning and the rights to the Ice Palace in June of 1999, it also acquired three acres of prime real estate adjacent to the arena. Located between the St. Pete Times Forum Plaza and the 1,500-space parking garage immediately to the building's west, the land will be developed into a restaurant, retail and entertainment zone.
Funded through a public/private partnership between the State of Florida, Hillsborough County, the City of Tampa and the Lightning, the St. Pete Times Forum was constructed for a price tag of more than $150 million and was completed in record time.
