The B.K.J.A. Was formed as a non political Association, who's aims are to bring together all Martial arts in the spirit of sharing knowledge and ideas. To unite different clubs and styles and encourage teachers to interact with others of equal and higher rank.

Since its formation by Sensei O'connor a 7th Dan in Karate, Karate Jitsu and 6th Dan Kempo Jujitsu the Association has flourished due to the open attitude and friendly approach.

The result has been that the Association now incorporates Aikido, Kobudo, Shotokan Karate, Shotokai Karate and others. All styles are welcome including the non Japanese arts.

After 30 years of being associated with other groups, watching the in fighting, politics, greed etc. we feel we have overcome the petty bickering, which allows us to teach our arts and pass knowledge onto others, maintaining a high standard (through technical meetings and seminars).

Everyone takes an active part and is made to feel one of the family, sharing course and grading dates, weekend excursions, visiting high ranking instructors if required, office support plus much more.
