I've said it
I've made a mistake

Thinking the grass
is greener on the other side...
It's not

Regret...
Fills every part of me
overwhelming my thoughts

Not a moment
passes during the day
when I don't tell myself...
You fool
What have you done?

The choice...
I've made the wrong one
it echoes in my mind

I'm forced
to watch each day unfold
to merely a shadow
of what it could have been

Filled with unfamiliarity
and contempt for myself
for placing my life in shackles

Going in a direction
I don't want to follow

Wishing I were
Where I was
When I left!
