So often these days
I find myself thinking
where you are
when you're not at home reading

I wish I could have been
there for you
to share a laugh
or comfort you

Instead I'm forced
to watch from afar
not being able to see
how happy or sad you are

My wish is always
that you know
when we're apart
I miss you so.
