AKRON...Akron defeats New Britain 2-1 in 10 innings thanks to 10th inning homers by Luis Gonzalez (5) and Billy Munoz (4). Paul Shuey, on a rehab assignment, starts and pitches 6 innings of scoreless baseball.
KINSTON...Kinston bests Myrtle Beach 5-4, also in extra innings. Dan Neil pitches 1 scoreless inning for the win, pushing his recored to 3-0 with a 0.82 ERA. Jeff Haase hits his 2nd home run, Tyler Minges is 2 for 5 with a double and 2 RBI, and Ryan Church has 3 hits including 2 doubles.
COLUMBUS...Charleston outslugs the Columbus 10-6. Ryan Prahm has a rare bad start, allowing 5 runs in 3.1 innings. Edgar Cruz hit his 4th home run, JJ Sherrill went 2 for 3.
