I visited the place in 2001 and found a stone in the wall that tells us about the lord of the isles. The place is obviously not often visited, there are hardly any parking facilities.
The abbey itself is but a ruin now but still has ancient monuments to present.
Nearby is Saddell Castle, behind which there is a river with a sandy beach. A nice place to play with children and to take looks around the landscape and the Castle.
