Hello;
Let me first start by introducing our troop. We are, as it says in the
t itle, the
1st Ottawa Baden Powell Scouts Association Council of Ontario.We are
affiliated with the Baden-Powell Scouts Association, United Kingdom,
and a member of the World Federation of Independent Scouts (WFIS). As
a member the B-P Scouts Association Council of Ontario, we follow the
traditional scouting program of training and advancement.
Originally started in the United Kingdom in the late
1960's, B-P Scouting
has spread to a number of countries such as Australia, Ireland, Denmark,
and Argentina. Now, after a few hurdles and challenges along the way,
our troop has operated successfully since 1999. We are the first troop
to be established in the Nation's capital and we can be identified,
quite readily, by our stetson hats.
