The XIMP is an external user interface for MP3 and other players.
It has 16 (max. 20) keys and an alphanumeric or graphical LC-Display.
It comes in a version for parallel or serial port.
You can use it to build a standalone MP3-Player out of an old (Pentium)
Mainboard with a harddisk and/or CD-ROM.
XIMPlay is the player software for XIMP. It works, but isn't released yet.
This is the parallel port Version.
It has 16 keys and a standard HD44780 4*20 alphanumeric LCD.
LCD and keys are directly connected to the PC's printer port
and to a +5V supply, which can be 'borrowed' from a disk drive cable or
from the PC's keyboard socket.
No additional parts are needed

This is the graphical parallel port Version.
It has 16 keys and a standard T6963 based graphical
LCD. (128*128 dots).
LCD and keys are directly connected to the PC's printer port (must be bidirectional)
and to a +5V supply, which can be 'borrowed' from a disk drive cable or
from the PC's keyboard socket.
