Ultra Symphony
Chapter 12: Touch the Sky...

Ikeda knew that there was no time to attempt to maneuver the vehicle out of the monster's path. She gritted her teeth and breathed a silent prayer as the monster's piercing shriek grew closer and rattled the windows.
In a single, swift motion, she wrenched the Ultra Brooch out of her coat pocket, held it out in front of her, and yelled, "Theresa, GO!". A blinding light filled the car, and just as the monster collided with the car, Ultra Theresa catapaulted herself through the windshield, missing the monster by less than a centimeter.
She landed on the ground in a slick roll, and turned around just in time to see the Marilyn, severely damaged, plunging into the ditch by the roadside. The monster was carried along with the vehicle, and was now pinned into the ground by it.
Theresa silently cursed, but her moment of peace was shattered. The monster hadn't even been fazed by the heavy weight of the Marilyn, and simply rolled it off itself.
Theresa got into a battle stance. "You know, that's private MEU property, you're probably going to face a serious fine for that carelessness." She taunted.
The monster simply replied with a rasp and a dash over to her, long claws extended. Theresa blocked the attack and landed a crippling kick to the monster's side.
"Do we really have to make this so physical on the first date?" She asked exasperatedly. The monster got its bearings back, and the two of them engaged in combat for a few minutes. Finally, the monster resorted to using its claws, and it sliced a painful-looking gash on Theresa's leg. She cried out.
"All right, that's it!" She snarled, gripping her leg with one hand and silently noting that this was the second monster in the same day that resorted to doing physical damage with blades.
The monster simply blinked and let out another piercing shriek, simulataneously shooting Theresa with a blast of Energy. She collapsed, feeling the pain intensely.
This isn't right.. Microsized monsters aren't supposed to have this much power.. She thought quickly, and she immediately jumped back up.
"I think Satan's wondering where you've been.." She muttered, readying herself for her attack. She closed her eyes, meditating for just a second, and then she readied her body in the familiar stance to generate the Estorium Ray.
The monster shrieked again and suddenly, a light appeared just above its head. Theresa stopped in mid pose. The light was laced with streams of a cerulean-colored energy, and the monster seemed to be responding to it by folding its wings over itself.
"What in the hell.." Theresa muttered, as the light began to shower over the monster, creating a light blue veil. Suddenly, the light turned blood red and the screamed as a tearing sound was heard. Theresa cringed, and cries could be heard in the distance from the long-forgotten parking lot.
The monster's scream of agony suddenly and almost unnoticably turned to one of what sounded almost like triumph, and Theresa was barely surprised to see the Monster all of a sudden grow to gargantuan proportions.
Because the development of the Microsized monster was very recent, Theresa was still accustomed to fighting on the traditional Ultrasized scale. So, it was with only a hint of apprehension that she responded to the Monster's growth.
The background behind her became rather dreamy, with stars swirling through a pink and blue sky. She was the only one to see it, of course, as it was mainly for aesthetic purposes She held out her Ultra Brooch, and her voice rang out, clear and true, as she spoke the words that carried her to the height of nearly touching the stars themselves.
"Theresa... HIGH!"
