1954:
January 14th:
Marilyn gets married to Joe Di Maggio.
January 29th:
Marilyn and Joe fly to Tokyo for their honeymoon. They make a stop at Hawaii for refuelling.

Marilyn flies to Korea to entertain the American troops there. Her stay there will last 5 days.
August 10th:
Marilyn starts filming "The 7 Year Itch".
September 9th:
Marilyn flies to New York to shoot some location scenes for "The 7YI".
September 13th:
Photographer George Barris takes his first photos of Marilyn.
September 15th:
They shoot the famous skirt scene in front of a crowd of approximately 2000 people. That same eveining, Marilyn is photographed with the Cinemascope Anniversary Cake and meets with italian actress Gina Lolobrigida.

October 4th:
Marilyn and Joe's divorce is announced. The basic reason of their seperation is Joe's jealousy; he was very angry to see his wife shoot that skirt scene, they had a terrible fight about it and some say he even hit her once.
October 6th:
Marilyn appears in front of the reporters accompanied by her lawyer.
October 31st:
Marilyn's and Joe's divorce is granted.
November 4th:
"The 7YI" 's filming is complete. It ran 3 weeks over schedule and it costed $150.000 over budget.
November 5th:
Late that evening, Joe Di Maggio breaks down the door of Florence Katz's appartment; it's what most people now call as "the wrong door raid".

November 6th:
Hollywood honours Marilyn at a dinner party that takes place in Romanoff's Restaurant.
November 8th:
Marilyn is operated at the Cedars Hospital in LA. The surgery is of a "corrective female nature".
1955:
January 7th:
Marilyn holds a press conference and cocktail party at the home of her attorney, to announce the formation of "Marilyn Monroe Productions". (Marilyn is tired of playing the "dumb blonde" type and has already refused to participate in two Fox movies where she'd play that type again. The films she turned down were "The girl in the pink tights" and "How to be very very popular". As a result, Fox will suspend her).

January 19th:
Marilyn moves to NY where she'll start taking acting lessons at the "Actors' Studio". Lee Strassberg is Marilyn's teacher at the Studio; Marilyn will become very attached to the Strassbergs.
February 4th:
An arrest warrant is issued for Marilyn after she failed to appear in court. She was accused for driving without a licence. The bail is $100.
March 9th:
Marilyn is an usherette at the premiere of "East of Eden" at the Astor Theater in NY.
April 30th:
Marilyn rides a pink elephant called Carnaudi at Madison Square Garden. The event took place for the benefit of the "Arthritis and Rheumatism Foundation".
April 6th:
A second arrest warrant for Marilyn is issued for the same reason as before. This time the bail is $200.
April 8th:
Marilyn appears on Edward Murrows interview show "Person to Person".
June 3rd:
The "7YI" is released.
September 29th:
Marilyn attends the Broadway premiere of Arthur Miller's new play "A View From The Bridge".
October 5th:
Marilyn attends the Broadway opening of "The Diary Of Anna Frank". After the performance she joins the (play's starring actress) Susan Strassberg for dinner.
December 12th:
Marilyn is an usherette at a film premiere;Marlon Brando also ushered.
December 31st:
Marilyn signs her new contract with Fox. According to its terms, she now has the right to approve or decline a director or a story; she also gets a salary increase ($100.000 for each film). Practically, the contract is a result of Marilyn's denial to play in the kind of movies they used to offer her and of her "self-exile" in New York for a whole year.

January 4th:
The "Morning Telegraph" announces Marilyn's new contract with Fox.
February 9th:
Marilyn holds a press conference to announce the production of "The Prince and the Showgirl".
February 22nd:
Marilyn poses for photographer Milton Greene in NY.
February 25th:
Marilyn returns to LA to start filming "Bus Stop".
February 28th:
Marilyn appears in court for that 1954 traffic violation and is fined for $55.

March 3rd:
Natasha Lytess receives a call from Marilyn's lawyer; he instructs her firmly not to attempt to see ot visit Marilyn. ( Marilyn has recently found out that Lytess intends to write a gossipy book about her and decided to end their friendship ).
March 5th:
Lytess attempts to visit Marilyn at her Beverly Hills home. An agent anwers the door and he forbids her to enter.
March 15th:
They shoot the rodeo scenes for "Bus Stop" in Phoenix, Arizona.
June 2nd:
Marilyn returns to NY after finishing "Bus Stop". After she lands and while she's in her car departing from airport, she's offered a small birthday cake with a single candle on it.

June 21st:
Arthur Miller appears before the "Unamerican Activities Committee". They ask him to turn in names of artists who have "communistic sympathies".
June 22nd:
Marilyn and Arthur give a hasty press conference regarding their upcoming marriage. Miller had already announced it the day before, without telling Marilyn.

June 25th:
The "Un.A.Committee." cites Miller for contempt and non-compliance.
June 29th:
Marilyn and Miller get married (civil wedding) in NY. Earlier, in the morning of this same day, a reporter was killed "en route" to the press conference the Millers held at their Connecticut home.

July 1st:
Marilyn and Arthur's religious wedding takes place. The ceremony is performed at the home of Miller's agent and friend, Kay Miller. It is a jewish wedding. Marilyn had converted to judaism a while ago.
July 13th:
Marilyn and Arthur leave for England to start working on "The Prince and the Showgirl".
July 16th:
Marilyn and Lawrence Olivier give a joint press conference about "The Prince and the Showgirl".
October 29th:
Marilyn -along with other artists- is presented to Queen Elizabeth II.

November 20th:
Marilyn and Arthur leave England after finishing shooting for "The Prince and the Showgirl". Marilyn and Olivier didn't get very well along at the set.
Actually, on the last day of shooting, Olivier made Marilyn apologise in front of the whole crew for her behaviour and the troubles she had caused on the set while filming "The Prince..".
