For the first time in her life, Marilyn is mentioned in a film review in the "Motion Picture Herald". It's about her performance in the Columbia film "Ladies of the Chorus" . It says: "One of the brightest spots is Miss Monroe's singing. She's pretty and with her pleasing voice and style, shows promise".
December 31st:
Marilyn is introduced to Johnny Hyde. They meet at a New Year's party.
( Johnny Hyde was a famous Hollywod agent. He was 53 years old when he met Marilyn. Despite the fact that he was married and had 4 children, Hyde and Marilyn started a love affair. When his wife found out about them, she asked for a divorce.Hyde helped Marilyn get parts in two of the best films of all time: "The Asphalt Jungle" and "All About Eve". Hyde also paid for Marilyn's 2 plastic surgeries. Hyde asked Marilyn to marry him but she turned him down claiming that however much she cared for him and loved him, she wasn't in love with him. Hyde had health problems with his heart for years; in 1950 he suffered a massive heart attack which caused him to die)..

Gladys Baker marries John Stuart Eley.
May 27th:
Marilyn signs (under the name of "Mona Monroe") a release form for photographer Tom Kelley. Tom is the one that took the famous shots for the "Golden Dreams" calendar.

Marilyn's mentioned in a movie review in the "Daily Mirror". It says:"Marilyn Monroe is a very lovely and relatively unknown actress. But give her time, you will hear from her. She's still very young".

"The Fireball" starts shooting.
May 11th:
Marilyn signs a 7 year contract with Fox. Johhny Hyde negotiated her contract to make sure she gets a satisfying salary.
November 5th:
"All About Eve"' s premiere takes place.
December 18th:
Johhny Hyde dies of a heart attack.

March 29th:
Marilyn appears in the Academy Awards for the first and last time ever. She 's the presenter of the "Best Achievement in Sound" Oscar, which goes to Thomas Moulton for "All About Eve".

January:
Marilyn hires Inez Melson as buness manager and as her mother's conservator.
Early February:
Marilyn meets Joe Di Maggio for the first time.
Also around that time, she's invited to Camp Pendleton to entertain the troops there. She will perform "Do It Again" for them.
February 26th:
She starts filming "Monkey Business".
March 5th:
Marilyn is x-rayed at Cedars Hospital,LA after feeling great pain in he appendix. Doctors tell her she should have her appendix removed, but the operation is postponed until she finishes her work in "Monkey Business".
March 13th:
A "Los Angeles Times" article reveals that Marilyn is the naked girl of the Tom Kelley calendar.
March 17th:
Marilyn attends a professional baseball game for the first time. Joe Di Maggio plays in it.
May 3rd:
Newspaper reveals the existence of Marilyn's mother. (Until then, Marilyn used to claim that she was an orphan; she wanted to protect her mother from publicity). The Press also reveals that Gladys now works as an aide at a nursing home.

Marilyn and Wendell Niles tape a radio play called "Statement in full" for the "Hollywood Star Playhouse".

Marilyn extracts from Snyder (her make-up man) the promise that he'll make her up whatever happens to her. He'll keep his promise years later, when he'll prepare her for her funeral service.

January 21st:
"Niagara" 's premiere takes place in NYC.
February 24th:
Marilyn appears on TV, in "The Martin and Lewis Show". She gives a small performance and she receives the Red Book Award for the "Best Yong Box Office Personality" category.
March 9th:
Marilyn receives the "Photoplay" magazine award for the "Fastest Young Rising Star of 1952" category.

Early October:
Milton Greene and Marilyn meet for the first time at a party given by Gene Kelly. They'll become very close friends and a few years later they'll form the "Marilyn Monroe Productions Co".
Also in October, Marilyn signs a recording contract with RCA.
October 28th:
Grace Goddard commits suicide (barbiturates overdose). Marilyn is shocked.
November 17th:
