Chinook

I worked at a Daycamp at my cottage for two summer's in a row, from 1996-1997. In the summer of '97, I was asked by a parent to come and do some work for her at her cottage on another island. I agreed, and when I showed up on the morning I met their Siberian Husky, Chinook. Chinook is white and gray and black, very wolfish, and has a mind of her own! She likes to kiss a lot, and is very gentle. She runs around without a leash or anything, and very much enjoys swimming across the channel to other islands. She's a very fickle Sibe!

I have therefore worked for them the past three summer's. I enjoy working there. The kids love me, the two boys, who can be seen in this picture. They gave me drinks, water, and even lunch sometimes. They are very nice people, but I especially love Chinook. I met her before I got Akela, and she was the only Siberian I knew closely, so our bond was very close. I miss her when I'm not at the cottage, but I do look forward to seeing her each summer. Now I can go there and introduce her to my own husky dog!
